Strawberries, Night Moves, Mr. Steak, Butcher Block, I remember Strawberries (rebuilt as CanadaInns? on Pembina, just south of the Norlander) and Mr. Steak (demolished, and rebuilt as Perkins on Pembina)> Was Night Moves called Scandals at one time? And I don't recall Butcher Block. I do remember the Swiss Chalet by Gary's Billards. It's a shame they closed it. However, they made that old Burker King into a Pony Coral, which was an awesome move...

Strawberries was closer to where Red Lobster is now on Pembina, in fact it used to be Butchers Block before, Mr. Steak is further down Pembina and is now a church. Swiss Chalet is now the Rib Shack (you are right it's too bad, I liked Swiss Chalet) Night Moves was at the Windsor Park hotel and I think Scandals was the old Norlander bar

You're right. It was "Bonanza" that closed down, and Perkins now rests on that very spot!

Which reminds me Swiss Chalet used to be a Ponderosa I remember the old Drive In Theatre on Pembina as well The big A still exists I think at the Assiniboine hotel I also remember the vomit bowl in the mens washroom at the zoo on Osborne (mainly from personal use!!)

Gambles was similar to Woolco/Zellers...The Big A (although the A is the Assiniboine hotel, The "A"(Mirrors) being young kids bar), the Big A was a 50's style food joint on Portage (near the old Canadian Tire) in the late 70's. Was short lived but had good food.

I was sure it was called something else, it was a take off of Arnolds from Happy Days, in fact I think it may have even been called Arnolds

It was indeed....but the A rings a bell though it could have been called Arnold's. I remember a big A on the sign. Though I went there a few times, it didn't have the drive- inn service which was too bad.

Night Moves was at the Windsor Park hotel and I think Scandals was the old Norlander bar I assume that Night Moves is now called "Pharroahs". Wow, does time fly. I remember when I turned 17 r 18. The name had just been changed to U4IA. Before that, it was "Club Soda" when I was in high school....

Club Soda was at the front and in the back of the parking lot was Night Moves or whatever it is now, I used to go there a lot

JCPenny used to be at Polo Park, it used to be located where the Bay is now.
Loblaws used to be in the polo park shopping centre too.

Eaton's was where the Bay is now located. Secondly, I don't believe Loblaws ever had stores in Manitoba. They are called "Superstore" in Western Canada.

Peppers, it may have been called other stuff...but i remember it as Peppers...the place that was in the Winnipeg Arena parking lot, they had good food.
the McDonalds that used to be on St. James across from the stadium too...we used to call it "Classy Mcdonalds", becuase it had fancy railings and was huge, and also had a wicked play place. nice place to eat at too.

Or "Fingers" & the famous onion loaf. Many of those after a Jet game. Was always packed & never had the problems like the Chi-Chi's spot. Funny thing for being 20 steps away.
