Yes. I've been f**king mad for years. Absolutely f**king mad.... I believe they came in at 11th in attendance if I am not mistaken. I wonder how the Nats' will fare once the novelty of having a new MLB team wears off. Tampa Bay, Miami, Arizona, and Colorado all did well attendance-wise in their first years, but how hover at the bottom of the league in attendance... source: sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendanceAbout the same. The Colorado Rockies played their first season in Mile High Stadium, a terrible baseball venue, yet smashed the MLB attendance record. DC isn't the greatest sports town, especially when compared to areas with similiar populations (SF Bay Area, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, etc).

I was cleaning up the Oil spill at Wabamun Lake 70km west of Edmonton for a couple of months, then did a couple of weeks on a Pipeline contract. Right now, Im just chillin at my GF's pad, waiting to goto Red Deer for another Pipeline contract. I only had 5 days off in the last 2 months, so I'm taking a 4 day break. It's nice to converse on the net again! PS...How are things in the Peg?

My old roommate in Edmonton is a big 80's metal fan, so he's hyped about checking them out Friday at Rexall.
As for the Moose, I don't even follow them. It's like the Edmonton Roadrunners. Most people have already forgotten that they existed now that the Oilers are playing...
I'm still rooting for the Return of the Jets. Until then, the Flames are my team...

I don't care about the Moose either, I totally forgot about the Roadrunners as well, I wonder how they will draw this year.

I thought Edmonton put that team to pasture for awhile?? I don't see them on the moose sight. Oilers only in Edmonton I think.

Nah... they just shut down operations for this year and the Oilers signed an affiliation agreement with the Iowa Stars.

jeez some of you guys are out of your mind to think that most of these teams are going to move to the peg. I would love another team in canada, but the next one we get (if we do get one) will be in Hamilton. Houston, Portland, Kansas City and Hamilton are on the raydar, but the peg is not. There is no potential ownerships even stepping up to the plate and your arena is too small. If hamilton go a team they would build an 18,000 seat arena. The way I see it is the canes and predators will move to Houston and Kansas city because both are very attractive. Which team goes where really doesn't matter. The biggest mistake the NHL did was give expansion franchises to Nashville and Raleigh. They are both small markets in the south like c'mon if a small market team in canada (winnipeg) can't even make it what made them think that the Preds or Canes would have made it. I don't understand why Karmanos even moved the team from hartford to raleigh when hartford was going to give him a new building. I mean if he was going to move he should have moved to a big market not some small market in the south. Atlanta is probably the only decent team in the south to tell you the truth. The flames used to outdraw the NBA hawks back when they were in Atlanta. Their owner went bankrupt for gambling and stuff and Atlanta is known for bandwagoning teams so they'll be ok. The Capitals are off the raydar of relocation like a previous poster said they are not just a flavour of the month. What's next florida? Miami will support a winner no doubt likewise tampa. Buffalo isn't a flavour of the week team either. The only two franchises that will most likely relocate are the canes and preds, but they're only 2 teams in 4 very possible spots. Like I said no ownership has stepped up for the peg and no one expects anyone too. I hate having to deal with winnipeg fans always yapping about how the peg got screwed etc. No one got screwed more than the Whalers and their fans don't come up with complete idiocy and jargon to state their case. "Bettman is stupid HOCKEY is Canada's game" that's all I hear from peggers justifying why they should get another NHL team. How about actually putting together real facts why you should get a team. I was born, raised and currently live in toronto. I remember watching games in 92, 93 etc and the arena had a lot of empty seats. Where was this so called "hardcore" fan base then? The white out is a joke and phoenix made it know that the lock out is possible anywhere. You guys just copied the Flames red mile in that playoff series with them. I know you guys are going to get your hopes up and then when someone else gets a team via relocation the rest of canada is going to have to put up with "WTF BETTMAN SCREWED US AGAIN" propaganda. So please do yourselves a favour and let go of this dream because it aint happening. No owner in their right mind will move a team from a place with potential, like a big city, to a place like winnipeg with piss poor potential and the best thing going for it is their Highly overrated fan base. Toronto, Montreal, and calgary are the only real fanbases in canada and the rest are just bandwagoners. Winnipeg Jets fans were included.
Chow!

If hamilton go a team they would build an 18,000 seat arena. HAHAHAH as if the city of Hamilton can afford to build a new arena. They already have one that was built in the 80's....as if Hamilton can afford another one. Copps Coliseum is garbage compared to the MTS Centre Why do you moderators allow this kind of garbage anyways from losers in Ontario. These negative views should be deleted ASAP. What a dumb post....stupid MTS Centre should have been built bigger to shut up all these easterners who insist MTS Centre is too small.

Chow! facts??? show me proof that hartford was going to build sneaky pete a new building.oh by the way i live in connecticut.p. karamanos not only wanted a building, he wanted it for free and he wanted TOTAL CONTROL of it. including all the concessions for UCONN basketball. which is a ton of cash.he is agreedy bum who should be removed from owning any nhl team .and now he is stewing in his own losses.he deserves it. now then show me a reason why the nhl should give kc a try when stlouis is all of a sudden aproblem spot. fact??? take a chill pill and then investigate your facts pal!!! the peg has to be the best available market out there if only because the fans are built in. no advertising budget.that is afact!!!

What about Blackthorne, is he coming back? I forget what Nuck did... but he was not `all in good fun` just before he got banned, I forget why we did ban him though.... Blackthorne does not want to come back, he is permitted but he choses not to come back for now, down the road he may, but not for a while.
