If we get the Thrashers... They are replacing Wheeler. And they don't even need a microphone. I know I was dissing ice girls before, but for some strange reason I'm actually coming around to the idea now What I'd like to know is what the goalie is doing behind her?!? ;D

Whoops. Wrong button.
As far as seeing "ice girls" at MTSC when the NHL arrives, I am 100% confident you won't. Chipman will run our franchise with class and respect. Very much like the Montreal Canadiens.

Maybe they could run like a "guys night out" promo, and just do it on nights where the game falls a weekday with the letter "y" in it?

At least icegirls are not as bad as cheerleaders...................cheerleaders don't belong in hockey. Period.

The Oilers have done it for some strange reason. ya, i was at 2 oilers games in december and they had the oilers octane cheer squad out.. i found them quite pointless to be honest.. they didnt even do anything on ice, all they did was have 2 dances during the game stopage times in the exit ramps all over the building.. the rest of the time they were on the concourse trying to sell their calander..

That one I can't figure out. The Oilers sell out every game and their team is not that great because of the rebuild. So why bring in that cheer squad with all the costs that come with them. I agree, seems pointless and a waste of money.

Who cleans the ice at the Moose games? The Flyers (Canucks used to as well) have ice girls that come out during time outs/breaks in play, and actually clean/repair ice sections. It really is not that big of a deal. No reason for anyone to get upset over.

I would have no complaints. Now if they were doing a dance in stoppages that would be a waste.

Definately not a dance team. Not in a Canadian city anyway. Ice girls are fine, and fine!

Look at it this way, Ricky Gervais tore everyone to shreds at the "Golden Globes", it was considered the best show ever, and people talked about it for weeks, do you see where I am going with this.... Only Ricky Gervais is a talented comedian. Wheeler is not

I'm a hockey traditionalist, and I definitely don't need an organized dance number on the ice between periods. That said, adding attractive women to anything is never an idea that I would reject out-of-hand. Have them shoot the hot dog cannon for all I care (no double entendre intended).

Aside from eye candy, they do actually serve a purpose.. And not all of them dress skimpy.
