www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/Bombers-release-QB-Dinwiddie-47125082.htmlWINNIPEG — One of the first casualties of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers initial wave of cuts is the man who started at quarterback in the 2007 Grey Cup. Ryan Dinwiddie, the No 2 pivot the last two seasons, was among four players released today, along with Canadian receiver Ivan Birungi, import defensive back Derek Strait and linebacker Bryan Wilson. The club also announced that receiver Terrence Edwards had signed a contract extension. Dinwiddie's release leaves four quarterbacks in camp - Stefan LeFors, Bryan Randall, James Kilian and Darrell Hackney.

Oh Oh Jiffy, looks like your prediction of Dinwiddie being the our quarterback of the future is no more. His arm is to week for the CFL and the large field.

He was never going to be our future QB. He is pushing 30, and never really impressed me. It's too bad but hopefully we can find a franchise QB that will lead us in the future. PS. Razor, what's the employment situation like in Edmonton right now? I heard rent has gone down.

Dinwiddie had his opportunity last season when Glenn was benched. He won once against an unprepared Calgary defense. I liked his heart, but he's just not good enough. Though I'm not sure if Lafors (and whoever else is left) will be much better.
It's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG season.

I too was quite surprised not only that he was released but so early into camp. Wasn't that after just the first day of regular camp? Sure hope Kelly knows what he's doing, but I also think we're battling for 3rd in the east, which is a terrific way of saying we MIGHT be .500 this year.
On a brighter note, this Williams from Hamilton seemed to have a bright future. He was released when the 3rd QB there took the number job away from printers for a few games last year.
It's is very possible that Williams ends up number here in Winnipeg due to more experience and faster legs than LeFors, while Hamilton's QB could end up being Kevin Glenn.
Just another reason for ROTJ supporters to want to kick black and yellow tail off the gridiron and off the ice!

I guess Dinwiddie's eyes will no longer mesmerize, eh? ;D Well, the Bombers are down to 4 quarterbacks in camp (they started with 6). Lafors, Randall, Williams, Killian. I thought Williams was still with Hamilton until the Bombers signed him the other day. Over at ourbombers.com, they don't really expect much from him. I thought he showed lots of potential (more than Printers), and wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the number 1 here also.

I love hearing comment's from everywhere, like "why did they get rid of him,I know he wasnt the future but he's the best we had", lol is all I can say.that's why the Blue let him go!
Wpg is not alone in changing the player's this year,Ham,Ed,Sask and I think Cal are going to be unknown this season.Under Kelly's system the guy's we had likely would not have cut it on the team from the sounds of it.
I have no problem now with all the changes,I did but I'm over it now.I think the team has tinkered a little bit every year with it's players, keep the core guys and fill in the rest.Well that hasnt worked in almost 20 years now as far as getting a Cup.So now I'm like blow up the Bomber and rebuild it from scratch, what's the worst that could happen?Another year without the Cup!
I think ppl also forget that this salary cap thing is only going to help with player movement,That may also be a reason the Blue let go of allot of players now.

Well to me Dinnie was a great quarterback with a lot of potential. But as I see it, we have some great picks this year. AND we have to trust what Kelly does... he is the bossman.

He ain't my bossman and I don't have to trust anyone. I do like the idea of a complete rebuild though, and though I have little faith in the team doing well, I am looking forward to the season.

Yes I am pulling the "trust em til they prove you wrong" attitude, and I am doing my best to look the other way of the quarterback dump. I honestly believe it was an awful move, but will "trust" this was for the best of the team, and hopefully we don't repeat a "REINBOLD experience" again. ONce a lifetime was enough for me.

"REINBOLD experience" again. ONce a lifetime was enough for me. AMEN to that! Though, i'm still not sure where this potential you seen in Dinwiddie was.

Well after speaking to my friend, who is the Manager at the Bomber store, (and I love to death as she is a sweety and gets me cheap bomber merch), told me that DinWiddie didn't preform very well at all during training camp! So therefore, I can't stick up for him. I guess I was just overjoyed that Glenn wasn't the only one anymore, and I was super happy he left and wanted to put all my faith in Ryan. I did have faith in him, and just wish he did do well during the training camp.
