You're probably right. All I'm saying is that his stats to this point are similar to a guaranteed CFL Hall of Famer - who was also considered by 8 out of 9 teams to be nothing special even after his 5th year of mediocrity. Well yeah, there's no arguing that but it's not hard to find quarterbacks who have come and gone with stats like Calvillo's early weak stats. Calvillo happening to end up a hall of fame QB isn't the benchmark for other QBs.. AC ended up a beast but what's there to say about the ten thousand others that were flops? So I mean, you can't just say "yeah, this guy's stats are crap but so were Calvillo's so we're golden." Hey, it's not impossible the Dinwiddie will yet end up being a solid QB but a comparison to AC is like claiming every 6th round NFL quarterback will lead a dynasty because Tom Brady did it.

"yeah, this guy's stats are crap but so were Calvillo's so we're golden." ...that just may qualify as the mis-quote of the year.
However I do contend that his stats (as few as there are) showed faster rate of improvement than Calvillo, courage and if nothing else deserved to be no less than LeFors' backup last year, especially when you look at the guys they actually kept through training camp.
Let's just hope Buck stays healthy and that other teams continue to recruit and develop QB's for us. As far as QB's go, Bombers are a development welfare case.

Sorry, when I started with 'you can't say this guy's stats are crap but so were Calvillo's so we're golden.' I honestly didn't mean you specifically, just in general.

No problem buddy...no actual offense taken. Anyway, I'm glad they have Pierce - he's good - and hopefully they're on the right track.

Oh, I'm in the Pierce is an elite QB camp. Though with an injury history like his I am extremely skeptical.
I really don't think it's a huge gamble at the deal we signed him to though, and if it works out the payoff could be huge.

You must be thinking of Buck Pierce in a Bomber uniform.
I just watched highlights of Dinwiddie on Sunday with the Roughriders against BC Lions. Kelly released him last year before training camp.

I think that was DiMichelle wearing number 1. Its only a pre-season game, one where Montreal barely played starters, but I like the look of our QB's going into this year. The game day for that game invironment was good, a lot of people came out and there seems to be a new attitude going into this year.

Probably like whiteout said, from where you were sitting maybe DiMichelle looked like Dinwiddie. But here's the game stats for Sask and Dinwiddie was definitely there. www.cfl.ca/statistics/statsGame/id/553
