Why did jets leave?
Hello are you that blind? Jets left because of first of all, We had no arena that could generate revenue, No suits, wpg enterpize took 36 percent of what Wpg Jets made. We lost jets too HIGH player salaries, we lost jets too a low cnd dollar. All that factored in It was never because of fan support, you are nuts to even say that.
If you have NHL network, they had a peice of why the jets left. It was never a question of attendance.
We averged 13,000(meh thats not alot now adays) it was back then, back then playoff games were not a sellout every game(Now adays they are) we sold out playoff games, which other teams didnt, so explain that. Next Minne had lower attendance then WINNIPEG JETS EVER DID. same goes to COLORADO ROCKIES(avged 9,000 plus). I think we all see NHL back in those cities right? and same goes to atlanta only god knows why.
One more thing, remember how winnipeg had 2,000 plus BAD viewing seats, that hurt attendance, with a new state of the art arena WHO wouldnt want to go watch a game in a beauty of arena, what atmosphere it would bring. Everyone else in the hockey world sure sees it workable with a new cba, but you and some others in wpg dont, oh well, maybe your scared to lose your job, if not then i dotn see what your problem is because every other city would be together on this, im so glad your opioion doesnt account for anything in rotwj. Im sorry but the b.s. we all have to here because is unacceptable. HAVE FACTS. Dont talk what OILERS have. Hello thats the PAST NHL, it will be different when it comes back.
You CAN knock rofJ all you want, but you have SURE seen the support now, from world juniors, broadcasters, Gm's in the NHL. Its all here now, and let em tell you the word is out, and ROTJ is going to have HUGE crowd more then ever. Say what you want, but The \"Dead\" Jets have more fans then moose do. Fact is you dont through A lower league and expect to have fans show up when we had the best HOCKEY in the world, sure ahl is fine for now, but it will never complete Winnipegers like NHL did. NHL will be back Count On It.
You KNOW im not the only one saying this, you have heard it form HIGHER sources around the NHL. *Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge* They have been on CJOB. Now you might say well tickets are like 70 bucks, well tickets will go down(thats outta bettmans mouth) and NO its not going to be the same for everyone, but like lets be real here, i think NHL is all aware tickets are very high and need to come down some(which they will). There not stupid, how else are they going to get people to come to the games, high ticket prices are hurting NHL attendance, they are well aware of that. There also wanting a salary cap range. 34-38.6 million. you said we could only fit in 30-32m. Um hello, we can easily fit in that range. it doesnt mean we have to be at 38 million. we can be lower if needed. But with a salary cap range, big name players will be affordable to EVERYONE, and thats all any franshice wants. 30-32m, is WHAT no one would want, then teams dont have any wiggle room to play with, that would turn alot of people off. No one wants to see NEW players on your team every YEAR!.

Many thanks for your e-mail.
When I hear from someone who is in a position to make the NHL happen again in Winnipeg I will become more of a believer. Gary Bettman, NHL owners, multi millionaire business people and the corporate community in Winnipeg are the people who will make it happen. I need to hear from them that they believe it is possible. If you are looking for facts, which you claim to be, I invite you to talk to some of the aforementioned people and get their thoughts. I have no fear of losing my job, nor am I nuts, as you suggest. I am in the reality business although I would never try to tell you that you shouldn't hang onto your dream. By the way, if the average ticket price at the MTS Centre for an NHL game would be, say, $60. that would make a pair of season tickets worth $4,800. How many shall we put you down for? Regards, Geoff.
My responce.
Hey, well who said all tickets are goin to be 60 dollars? who cares about the average. lets talk ticket ranges. they could go from anywhere to 25-75 dollars. What some of you forget is, NOT every seat in the house goes for 75 dollars. Its different prices in different sections.
Season ticket : My parents have told me, they'd love to get season tickets if nhl comes back.
So anwser me this what i asked you before.
Since minne,Colo,Atl, had less atttendance then Winnipeg(since your on this winnipeg had bad attendance thing) and they all had there nhl team back, why is it so hard to believe we cant get them back? we can be just like minne and colo. They know now how much they missed out on NHL, and there never letting it go again, look how they support there team now we are just as big of a hockey city as them. This city is a HOCKEY city, its true. Just look what we have done with hockey, every time it comes here.
Were number 1 in ahl, we broke world juniors record, we sold out ex. games(juniors). Is it that bad to get on the wagon, and strive for the NHl to come back here? Everyone should be on the same page gettin excited, making some noise, pull with eachother, not half on the same page and half off, because they dotn see how it willw ork, listen if there is a will THERE is a way. Edmonton OILERS told us we could support an nhl team, if we had several owners. There is porlly lots of stuff going behind the scenes, and we already have had 2 owners coem knocking on our door, we also have some owners that would come front if NHL changes. were not that off the ball geoff.
Now ill wait for his responce.
