I think that after this whole Stamps/Burris thing, Jones should get his release and come back to Winnipeg to compete.
He loved and still loved Winnipeg. He wanted to spend his life here. Please Taman, let him.

khari sucks...why we kept him for as long as we did is right out to lunch...

We kept him because he produced TD's. Think of it, he scored a lot of TD's before. So it was safe to assume that the Bombers would sign him.

Khari Jones was a winner on the field, (before Ritchie and Daly started calling the plays exclusively from the sidelines, ruining his rythym,) and a class act off the field. Then again, with Daly still in charge the Blue will lose no matter who is at QB so for Khari's sake I hope he lands with a contender.

Khari was a good QB about 3 years ago. He's washed up and should retire.

Khari stopped caring on the field after he signed for the big bucks. It wasn't about proving himself then, it was about staying healthy.
If we can pick him up for a fraction of that million dollar contract, I'd say do it and let him back up Glenn to start the season.

I think it was him becoming a father that dulled him down a bit. He's more worried about getting hit than having the best possible chance to make a completed pass. I understand that. But when it comes to that, you have to retire.
Why is everyone hoping Glenn starts though? I want Tee to have a chance. I don't like politics.

khari was given plays to hand off the ball to a runner all the time because the sidelines know he can't pass worth a crap...never could...

Never could? 2002: 19 games, 635 attempts, 415 completions for 65.4%, 5564 yards 48 touchdowns, 31 ints 97.91 QB passer rating.

Khari or Martin's only chance of playing here is if they fire Jim Daly, we all know that isn't going to happen anytime soon so expect yet another losing season at CanadInns Stadium this year.
Daly doesn't play to win and the Bombers will NOT win as a result.
Khari put us in the Grey Cup, (a lost by troy westwood and dave ritchie,) what has the current cast done?

What are you talking about? Daley doesn't want to win? Yes he does.
All he's wanted for the past many years was to prove himself. He got a chance sort of to run the Riders, took them to the big game. Then was out because they wanted a different head coach and felt Daley wasn't head coach material yet. Hmm, they haven't seen the big game since he left.
Well, now Daley gets to pick his entire coaching staff. He wants to win. He didn't pick up his old buddies or anything. He picked up people he wants so he can win. He's getting Taman to look at new recievers because the old Bombers could score 40 points no problem. Last year they couldn't hit 20 most of the time. Yet their defence after Daley took over was a lot less than what they were giving up at the beginning. SO Daley probably want to bring in a bunch of new blood on D and just get what works on offence.
I think this is a great move. Daley wants to win. The Bombers will either sail or sink because of the way Daley runs the show.
As for Khari and Martin. I believe Daly know how the fans of Winnipeg can get if he doesn't do what's in the best interest of the fans. He's going to play Tee Martin unless there is a huge political thing against him or, what if he really doesn't want to play? Ever think of that?
Tee Martin has been wanting to play the NFL for so long yet was released and probably will never crack the NFL roster again. Even if there are sniffs from other teams would indicate that Tee Martin is talented big time.

Daley plays to "not lose", which is not playing to win. When you go for a field goal on 3rd and goal at the 1 inch line, that is NOT playing to win. This was with a playoff spot on the line no less. Gutless coaching doesn't win, period.
We picked up Tee Martin and he was touted as our up and coming prospect ala Khari in 1999. However, under Daley he never took a single snap, even when the season was over. In that last gaim against Calgary, Daley went with all veterans and benched all of his rookies. That is the last gasps of Dave Ritchie all over again and gets us no closer to the Grey Cup.
This team won't go 7-11 under Daley and his cautious style will get picked apart just like last year.

Daley didn't play his rookies and Tee Martin for one very smart reason. He didn't want to show the rest of the league what his young guys can do.
With the season ended no matter what, why play some guy you hope to have next year that could light up the league? If no one sees Martin in action in 2004, how do they know how to defend against him in 2005? It was very smart not to play Tee.

i think it would have been great to let tee play for at least one half. let him gain a little experience. get his feet wet. i just hope daley gives him a fair chance in training camp. it is glenns job to lose so who knows. maybe the added pressure will boost glenns game too. heres hoping.

As far as i'm concerned Tee Martin should be the starter. He's a scrambling QB has anyone watched printer's or Damon Allen in his younger years? not only can he run but he's got a gun for an arm. This guy has the potential to be just like Printers did with the lion's last year. Lets not all forget if Printers would have played in the Grey cup game last year they would have killed Toronto. Glenn had his chance last year and he really didnt impress me to much. The bombers better make the right decision because Tee will be winning a grey cup with a team that wants him to play.

Tee Martin, former Tennesse Volunteer! If I'm correct he won a national championship with them too, I think it was vs. Florida State. He took the reigns after Peyton went to Indy. Given his track record I'd say he's a fine choice!

Well, Daley and Taman play the safe bet. They know Glenn has the goods, they also don't want to piss him off before the season starts.
During the pre season, we'll see if Tee can tee up Edmonton. If Tee serves up a great game, then it will be Glenn who will have to fight for it.
Glenn will have the upper hand though. He's the starter until he proves he can't guide the Bombers to victory.

I for one have no problem with a QB controversy this year. I liked Khari Jones. He had a special place in my football heart. I would love to get him back in Blue and Gold but I think after Sask losing Burris, they'll be looking at Khari.
I actually want Tee Martin over Kevin Glenn at the moment because I believe Tee can do it. I do think that Glenn is really good though.
