C.I.S. = Canad Inns Stadium

I think the whole hold up is in large part to the fact, they have no cash to do it. Too bad, they'll never make any playing in C.I.S. Not a big revenue maker, I think the guy with the hot dog cart makes more during the season.

Well... at least we don't have to give WEC a % of the profit anymore. That was so ridiculous... I think we were the only CFL team that had to pay a "landlord" to use the facility.
Only in Winnipeg...

The WEC put Winnipeg about 30 years behind, in every aspect. Bunch of suits. And they actually thought stuffing there own pockets was some how helping the city. Talk about BS. Too bad we never had a guy(still don't) with deep pockets to tell those grey beards to take a long walk on a short dock.

Let's see... replacing the Wpg Arena took 20 years and bickering and debates...
Getting a little minor-league ballpark that we desperately needed took 5 years of fighting city hall...
I suspect the new stadium will take between 5 and 20 years to get done. We've been talking since 2004, soooo best case scenario, we'll have it in 4 years. Worst case, we'll have it in 17.

it will get built. hopefully they break ground this fall so it could be ready in 2-3 seasons. i think they're just trying to find an appropriate site for a hotel and stadium. because the packers site is not an ideal place for a hotel IMO

They don't have a location, they don't have a plan and most important, they don't have any money or a sugar daddy

The last plan I saw had a huge toilet bowl looking stadium and they talked about putting it near Assiniboia Downs.

I think it will be built in about 5+ years. And I am hoping it will be part of revitalzing the area by waterfront (higgins) with a recreation campus that was proposed at the canada packers site that included hockey rinks, a speed-skating ovals, rock-climbing walls, golf practice fields, a skateboarding park, bike paths and 18 outdoor soccer fields, indoor pitches and hopefully they would build tennis facilties, indoor soccer complex and with condos and boating docks and maybe a new docking area with a restaurant for the paddlequeen cruise boats, a huge indoor golf dome.
then if the stadium is a dome then that another storey for multi-use ideas. next.

I for one wouldn't want one cent of my tax money going to this and "DUH" there would be a huge outcry here if tax money went to build the Bombers a new stadium, it would be political suicide.

What an idiot. I'd for one love to give 40bucks to 200bucks off my check to get a new staidum built. Think about it we use are taxxes to support welfare bums who are to lazy to go to work, so why not give some money to an actually cause that will do this city and everyone a favour.

I am an idiot, you think all of your taxes go to welfare bums and a new stadium will help this city how? It's full what maybe 10 times a year. So who is the idiot
