I won't shed a tear for the Penguins if they leave. Sure they have a few fans... but NO ONE has ever said WHY Pittsburgh is a "great hockey town". They're not.
Baseball, football, basketball (even though they don't have an NBA team), and College sports (maybe even HIGH SCHOOL football too) all overshadow "pro ice hockey" there.
Tell me again why you guys think Pitts is a great NHL city...?
Don't feel sorry for them if they lose their team. They have gorgeous new buildings for their NFL and MLB teams. They have another NHL hockey team in the same state.
I don't think they're going to suffer.

Uh huh. And how many people in Pittsburgh were sad when we lost the Jets? Zero. berzerkled, they have NFL and MLB and AWESOME new barns for both. They'll be just fine. Thanks for not proving me wrong though. I never tire of being absolutely correct.

Pittsburgh is a good hockey town. 40,000 people packed the Pittsburgh Int'l Airport when Lemieux & Co. brought back the Stanley Cup in 1991. The next year, the Pens were welcomed with a parade, which thousands showed up.
Pitsburgh is a good hockey market. It's a shame the city is bankrupt.

Dude...they get more fans out per game than Winnipeg could....and that's a fact because they average more than MTS holds. It's a solid hockey market. The team was just run into the ground. They had an offer from the city for a new building years ago and the previous Owner said no. He did accept a handout for some renovations to Mellon though. Pretty foolish. They then went bankrupt and still don't have a rink. Mis-management. Not the city's fault. They're a strong US hockey market. Lukewarm by Canadian standards.

Blackthorne knows all though. He is always right so why ever question him. He has a very high opinion of himself and probably thinks he could walk on water. Would not surprise me if he thinks he is bigger the jesus.
Pittsburgh is a great hockey city and has some great diehard fans. He would love to see them lose a team yet he knows how it feels. What goes around comes around.

Yeah guys, props to Pitts. BT is like a canadian hockey fan. They cry foul when something happens to their home team but when something happens to the others.. meh, that's business. Grow up Jason.

Pittsburgh has had terrible attendace. And football, baseketball, baseball and College sports will always, always, always "overshadow" hockey there. Good NHL city? Puh-lease. NONE OF YOU (as I expected) have given me a reason why they're a "good NHL city". They packed the airport when they won the Stanley Cup?

They packed the airport when they won the Stanley Cup? the reason why NHL would rather have american teams than canadian teams because US teams make money... when you guys up in canada stop taxing people to death...and eliminate those welfare programs for lazy people...maybe you guys will have more NHL teams in the great white north...

So BT......tell us why Pittsburg is not a great NHL city. You've said NOTHING to back your opinion up...... after after not coming here for many months, I see some things don't change...like you BT, still the daydreamer, among other things.

At least Edmonton and Calgary aren't saddled with an extra 7% provincial sales tax on ticket prices...that pusts us at a huge disadvantage...could this be waved by the prov gov't??

Pittsburgh is 18th in attendance this year at an average of 16,232.. thats more then the Jets could get at MTS Centre.. In fact the Jets if they came back would average right now 23rd in legue attendance cause Phoenix is 22nd with an average of 15,145.. Even if the Jets sold out every game they would not be able to surpass those teams. They made a mistake when they only put 15,000 seats at the MTS Centre.. sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2006

Do you know what happened to the LAST guy who called me a "loser"? Let's just say he's at the hospital right now. . . . . . He threatened to beat the Holy Hell outta me so I begged and pleaded with him, finally telling him I could get him a job there... and I did. But he beat me anyways.
