I know it won't happen but why not if the county doen't get them a new arena then could relocate, so why not us?
Besides successfull Devils GM like Lou Lamerillo (sp?) knows how to work on a tight budget and he could be a could be the gm our Jets would need to compete.
Well atleast if we don't get the devils we could sure use Lou as our gm

An arena is currently under construction as the future home of the New Jersey Devils.

Taking a look at the attendance from the Calgary vs. New Jersey game on wednesday instead of building a new arena they should just be relocating. I don't care that they announced over 13000 fans, looking at all the empty seats there couldn't have been more than 8000 there.

Tell Fukn Betman that. Can u imagine if that was one of the Canadian teams, there wouldn't be no chance of building a new arena because he would make a big stink and have them relocated in the next year. To me as long as you have Betman in charge of the nhl there wont be another relocation to Canada. He just docent understand hockey nor does he care for the game. Ship him out it's time a person with some feel for the game to take over.

Jersey has a huge TV contract in the New York area, plus they have some of the most expensive tickets in the league. With a salary cap, they will make money, even with 10,000 people in the building. It looks bad for the league, but what can you do?

If a team makes money, a team makes money, simple as that.

wrong... the rangers through Madison Square Garden network OWN the devils tv rights (and the isles' as well) and the devs and isles are consistently pushed to secondary channels behind the Knicks and Nets of the NBA(who MSG also control on tv.) and despite winning 3 cups in the recent past they garner almost NO media attention in the ny area.plus they are not eligible for revenue sharing due to the size of their market. are they stable for now...yes will they remain stable if their attendence doesn't pick up.... no will Newark be the solution....in my opinion no.

I don't foresee the Devils moving at this point. Construction for the new arena in downtown Newark has indeed started, but a construction payment by the team is dangerously close to not being paid. However, the Devils do say they'll meet the payment deadline.
While the Devils will always be in the Rangers' shadows, they will survive and do well enough to remain in the New York City metropolitan region. Until everything is squared away with whether they will be finalizing renovation plans or end up changing their mind to build a new arena themselves, the Islanders are facing a somewhat uncertain future.
Just to clarify, the New Jersey Nets now have their games broadcast on YES Network (owned by the Yankees), not MSG Network.
