What ever happened with that rumour a while back about a MOU that was signed between the NHL and TNSE? Is TNSE getting that 5 million? Also, I thought there was something in there that gave us ATL if Phoenix fell through. Or was that just speculation?

I always wanted us to choose. That is why I cheered for GWI even though I know TNSE had always wanted Atlanta. Now we have all our eggs in one basket and the deal has to be done and announced this week or it is not happening this year. The reason is there is nothing holding back the deal now - except possibly the NHL not wanting to come back to Winnipeg. There is no leverage required anymore in Phoenix. So there is no reason to hold back now unless it is not going to happen. I re-iterate...this week or our hopes should go WAY down for 2011....

I hope and pray every day for the return of NHL hockey in Winnipeg, and I am confident that the announcement of a return for 2011-2012 will be happening soon!
If for any reason that doesn't get done, and a team doesn't get here this fall, I'll be upset but I'll never give up!
I've been waiting for 15 years, and I'm not going to give up now...or ever!!!

I'm still kind of worried that things wont work out for us...but then I think of how there are zero options in Atlanta. The schedule will be released in about a month and a half, and there are zero options in Atlanta.

if there was no chance of NHL in winnipeg next season TNSE would say something, it's in their best interest to generate maximum support for the Moose next season, and right now there's 3000 of us on here and tens of thousands of more Winnipegers who have pushed the Moose to the back of their minds while they wait for a Jets announcement.
also TNSE has been talking with Atlanta since at least January, they knew it may come down to the wire so I garuntee you they have a deal in principle done already if there's one to be had.

If an announcement had to wait until after the playoffs it would take attention away from the accomplishment and celebrations of the winning team. This Friday is the prefect time for an announcement, Game 7 between Detriot & San Jose is Thursday, make the announcement Friday, everybody can do their little dance and rejoice that a 7th NHL team will play in Canada next year, and then get back down to business in the form of the Conference Finals. Even if that work doesn't get done, and a team doesn't end up here in October, I'll never give up the faith. I didn't 8 years ago, and I'm not about to give up now. I am the same way. I will admit I will likely take a step away for a while, but I will never give up home that we get a team back. If we don't this year I am out $700 (bets), but as long as we get a team by the end of the 2012 calander I will win $1400 so I have plenty of time haha. haha...me too. same denomination. |

If we don't get a team, its because of GWI! People treat them like gods around here but if was'nt for them, atlanta could've been wraped around jan or feb. |
