So what exactly could stop the thrashers from moving here?
I cant see anything. TNSE wants a team and is NHL approved, and ASG wants out.

so i think the only reason they would want to announce it yet would be to keep attention on playoffs.... that being said i dont think that would hold them off so...... bring on the thrashers baby!

Please someone rebuttal my point because I'm sure I'm missing something. My concern is that because the yotes aren't actually sold, were in same position as last year and they won't let the sale happen?

I would HOPE at this point, TNSE would be allowed to make a deal for the Thrashers (what we've been led to believe all along) and that Quebec City would take on the role of "threat from the North".
This gives the ownership group in Quebec a year or two to get all of their ducks in a row, and get construction started on a new arena. Then, its simply a waiting game for them?
Of course in regards to the NHL's return to Winnipeg, whenever an idea seems logical and reasonable, it never seems to happen

I believe that people underestimate how complicated things are. If we had got Phoenix, no realignment would have occured outside of us swapping divisions with Colorado. What us getting Atlanta accomplishes is to create substantial realignment. I have to believe that Detroit which has been hit severly with the economic downturn, and has a terrible travel schedule would love nothing more than to be moved to the East. NBC, TSN, and HNIC would all have a vested interested in this too, so in a way we are helping the league by taking the Thrashers. The tough part is realignment. The league and more importantly the BoG has to find a workable solution for everyone. I foresee us joining the Northwest, Colorado the Pacific, Dallas moving to the Central, Detroit joining the Northeast, Boston joining the Atlantic, and Pittsburgh moving to the South. That's my take, there are other options, like moving Columbus or Nashville, but Detroit vs any original six team will be a big draw, not to mention some of the other established teams in the East. TV networks want ratings, more exposure of Detroit will surely mean better ratings, so I think our fortune will be the NHL's too.
I just want to be a part of an NHL season that would give me the opportunity to see my home team honour Teemu Selanne, bring home Jonny Toews, and give us all the opportunity to see the best hockey on the planet in a professional hockey atmosphere. I'm ready, hopefully everyone else is...

Just think of all the up and coming stars we will have too!! Evander Kane, Bryan Little, Alexander Burmistrov, Zach Bogosian, Tobias Enstrom, and Big Buff!!!

I remember last month, people were saying "Get the Phoenix deal done already so Atlanta can come. Goldwater is holding things up for us, it's been the Thrashers all along!"

While it seems like a "given" the Thrash are on thier way, I still have a a bit of a sick tummy... something still does not feel right, and I have been very positive through this whole mess.

It's the lack of time the worries me. But we have to remember that the thrashers leaving actually benefits ASG financially, as they can fill the arena with concerts etc. So this time there wont be the amount of absurd desperation that we saw from glendale

I guess the big question is what now and when will some real confirmed news be announced pro or con on Atlanta. If we are to believe that there was a binding trust between True North and Gary B. and that Mr Chipman was doing the NHL a big favor for the last year, then I say talks will start today, If they haven't started already. The real news? Well I guess it will be here first, just please not in a hidden messages, it's getting tiresome to the ones that are not in the loop or the know!
