If an announcement had to wait until after the playoffs it would take attention away from the accomplishment and celebrations of the winning team. This Friday is the perfect time for an announcement, Game 7 between Detriot & San Jose is Thursday, make the announcement Friday, everybody can do their little dance and rejoice that a 7th NHL team will play in Canada next year, and then get back down to business in the form of the Conference Finals.

I've put out an offer before, and I'll repeat it now, that if anyone wants to share season tickets let me know. I am a partner in a small business. I have talked with my partners about ST's. If we get some people who want part of a season, we can assemble a group and get more STs that way! Let me know by private message on this site. I have a group of 3 guys and a fourth is begging to be let in. We will buy 2 for sure maybe 4, we are still discussing it!

I do agree gobombersgo but I think the NHL will force this issue it does not mean that the season ticket drive etc can not take place the official announcement will be put off but by the time that announcement is made almost everyone who seriously wants season tickets in WPG will have put a deposit on one or have paid for them already! With the announcment of season tickets ahead of time that will be enough that that is all everyone will be talking about already. I see no reason to hold off of the real announcement aonce the tickets are sold.

the Hawks still being in the playoffs is a good thing. Atlanta sports fans will be more focused on the playoff run of the Hawks and will soften the blow of the relocation news.

I am sticking by the people of this site and those "in the know". Its been a long season and I am not about to give up now just when things that are supposed to happen finally do happen. There is work to do, and I believe it will get done. Even if that work doesn't get done, and a team doesn't end up here in October, I'll never give up the faith. I didn't 8 years ago, and I'm not about to give up now. I am the same way. I will admit I will likely take a step away for a while, but I will never give up home that we get a team back. If we don't this year I am out $700 (bets), but as long as we get a team by the end of the 2012 calander I will win $1400 so I have plenty of time haha.

Question for Darren Ford, what is the next move, and when do you think any news would come out from the NHL or True North?

The thing is that if Bettman does not allow this deal to happen, he isn`t only screwing with TNSE, he is screwing with ASG, a current owner and governor. They want to sell, they have tried to sell for years, they simply want out to stop the financial bleeding. If he does not allow them to sell what message does that send to potential owners? Tire-kickers in Phoenix next year will be more hesitant to step up to the plate depending on what plays out with ASG.

The big tie up is the relocation of the Moose. We'll see. This is exactly what we should try and keep a careful eye on. Obviously most of us aren't privy to the negotiations down in Atlanta, but I'm sure people here must have connections with the Moose organization and players. The moment news leaks that the team is relocating or individuals have been told they will be moving, we know Atlanta is coming here.

NHL news will come first, AHL will deal with it accordingly. AHL has already admitted they have scenarios planned for next season, one that includes the Moose in Winnipeg and at least 2 that don't (suspended operations for a season, relocation to Abbotsford). AHL does not need alot of time. And to be quite frank, with hockey fans in Winnipeg and Atlanta in limbo, if the Thrashers were going to stay put for next season, I believe Bettman would straight up say it. "Let me be clear, the Thrashers will be playing in Atlanta next season, period. There will be no relocation."
