This is a forum to debate points of view. I don't appreciate juvenile personal attacks that my posts may compell you to make. And the moderators will show those that do this sort of thing the door. Chris I hardly think "stick to what you know" is a juvenile personal attack worthy of banning. An instigating poke, sure (maybe like "your analysis from Alberta" is?), but come on. But hey, that's just me.

As more of an interested observer - or a casual fan vs a hardcore Bomber fan - I'd say the biggest misstep of the season was the failure to develop one of the young QB's on the roster by showing them any meaningful playing time whatsoever. If the Bishop is the QB next year, expect not much more than a dogfight for a playoff spot once again....

QB, recievers, ( but i can give them some slack because our F.A.S.D. QB is dumber than dumb) and our "great" RB need to go! Reid really does suck, he got lucky in B.C. nothing more.

Reid is overated and inconsistent, one game he can steal the show and the next he gets stopped for a loss or no gain every single time, I mean does anyone else miss charlie?
Keep the defense the way it is (if there willing to stay here) and build our offense.

At a minimum, Kelly should not be in charge of bringing in players. If Bauer wants to keep Kelly as coach for another year, whatever, but he cannot be in charge of bringing in players.
I am on the fence about firing Bauer and Kelly. I would hope that Kelly can learn from this year that he needs to have good people around him and to rely on those people. If he can then there is some hope for him.
Also, need to trade for a decent young QB. And when I say "trade" I mean give up whatever if necessary no matter the cost. Everything starts at the QB level.
Good work by the way for the defence. They played tough and I am amazed how well they played considering the time of possession.

HAHA
Ok facebook, as we know is no good at all for planning winnipeg jets related rallies but is good for a laugh
MANITOBA Judge makes unprecedented ruling. Another case of truth being stranger than fiction...
WINNIPEG , MANITOBA (CP) -A seven-year-old Winnipeg , Manitoba boy was at the center of a Winnipeg city courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy alleged they had also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, whom the boy and judge both firmly believe are
not capable of beating anyone.

Jiminy cricket, what a season! here are my thoughts: -Kelly will not be fired...we are already paying one fired coach, can't pay two -Bauer ain't going nowhere until Asper takes over, unless he decides to quit -i wonder how LeFors would have made out after the offence started showing signs of life. Clearly the schemes were as much to blame for the early season struggles. Would he have did better than Bishop? -why the hell do the Bombers always try to run on second and long? This has bothered me for years. -there are some good players on defence that we need to keep -Fred Reid needs to shut his pie-hole and just play -Kelly is an obnoxious son of a Go Jets Go that is going to keep players from wanting to play here -there are tons of hot chicks at Bomber games -I wonder if Dinwiddie would have come in and injected some life? -would the city be willing to go an entire year with unproven quarterbacks to see if any of Santos, Bramlet or the other dude (DeMichel?)have any chance of being a starter? -why can't we find a good young quarterback? BC grows them on trees it seems, Saskatchewan found Durant(apparently from our neg. list) -why didn't they throw to Terrance Edwards yesterday? -if they bring back Bishop, they can't leave him in an entire game when he isn't playing well -they have to let Casey Bramlet play against someone else other than Montreal -why was there water in that boat the TiCats celebrated in? i thought that was actually pretty funny. -i hate those blue pants - especially when they wear them with the white jerseys. Stick with the gold for pete's sakes -kudos to all 29,000 that went to the game. Can't say the fans didn't show their support

Did any one else watch the very end of the game on TSN... The Hamilton coach didn't even look at Mike Kelly when they shook hands (it was a drive by hand shake), the rest of the Ti-Cats were all looking over and appeared to be yelling at Kelly who was left standing there wanting to talk to the Ti-Cats coach. I watched this in slow motion on my PVR a few times. It was pretty funny. Mike Kelly doesn't have many people who like or respect him. That's a big problem. Fire him and cut our losses. I did see that, however I thought it was Kelly who was cold.....

Well, lots to respond to. Here it goes: DPB, if your not here for conversation, than why you here at all? Chris, I keep very close tabs on the bombers through forums, and online articles. Non-import receivers are valuable, and I was fan of Franklin also. His ONE touchdown hardly makes him a stud though. He's a free agent this off season, and had no intention of resigning (rumor is he wants to play for an Ontario team cause it's closer to home). Not sure what kind of QB you think we could get in return that would be any better than Bishop. My understanding is Barrin Simpson was injured, refused to take a limited role because of it, cried, walked away from the team, bad mouthed the franchise in the locker room, and got into an altercation with Doug Brown. He admitted he was in the wrong and came back to the team (to salvage his career). So you claim Terrance Edwards wants out, along with a few other star players, eh? His players were backing him as they cleaned out their lockers and had final meetings with coaching staff.
Slotback Terrence Edwards said he hasn't heard any of his teammates say a bad word about Kelly and that's why they never quit on him.
"I think coach Kelly will be a way better head coach next year," Edwards predicted. "I think he has learned a lot and I think people in Winnipeg, just give him a chance. I think he's the right guy for this job.
"He's a passionate coach and that's what you want from your head coach."www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=297806Anyways, like I said, stick to what you know. That is not juvenile to say, but this would be: I have an inside source with the Eskimos brass that Ricky Ray mid-season was unhappy in Edmonton and would like to be traded, preferring to go to Winnipeg. Eskimos asked for Franklin but Winnipeg refused that offer. See, I can do it to.

LOL, yes, I do know it's DBP, my bad. Yes, you may call me Dave.
You insulted my opinion along with a few others. Thought I give you a jab back, and get you into a "conversation".
Other than that, meh, haven't had a good online debate in a while, figured I'd pick on a few popular posters here. I tried in a couple other threads to get people going last little while, but nobody is taking the bait. I'll guess i'll just have to wait for Mcguire and Selanne405 to butt heads again.
Bertuzzi should be suspended for life and Brian Burke is a moron!!!

Hook, line and sinker!
So, ah, to respond to another poster some where in this thread. The Bombers did not pay Glenn his bonus, hence why he was released and not traded. The Bombers asked Glenn to alter his contract so he could be traded to Hamilton, but Glenn refused, and Hamilton refused to accept his contract as is. Which resulted in Glenn's trade value was ZERO!
So, he was released, than picked up quickly to be a back up to Quintin Porter. Porter Shite the bed mid season, and Glenn took over the number 1 spot.
I guess some of you are superstar managers on Madden10. Things are different in the real world.

Pretty much every Bomber fan wanted Glenn gone, as did I, but In hindsight, keeping him would have been better. I was looking forward to watching a younger QB be developed this year, but I guess after LeFors injury, Kelly didn't have any faith in the rest of the backups, so he brought in Bishop.
Hopefully Kelly will concentrate on the QB position and the Oline also. Ried is only good when the Oline gives him holes to run through.

If the Bishop is the QB next year, expect not much more than a dogfight for a playoff spot once again.... The CFL is not a league that you can give a young QB any significant playing time unless your blowing a team out or you are getting kicked yourself. And then he would not be playing against the starters anyway. It would be tough to get a real good feel for what they could do. There is too much to risk. Either your QB has it or doesn't, If they don't make a substantial contribution in whatever limited playing time they get, they will be shipped out and the next backup comes in. Another factor is coaching changes which is what happened here this season. Kelly wanted what he was used to and put all his money on Lefores, while shipping out Glenn and Dinwiddie and finally Randell.
