Do you really expect any top teams to come to Winnipeg, when you have Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary out West where the Olympics are? I bet there are NO games offered to Toronto, Montreal, etc. It is what it is.......who really cares.....

What NHL players are on those teams. This is going to be a lower caliber of hockey than AHL.

Guess my sources were good.... Those who doubt me; don't get my respect! Well, don't get your hopes up guys / girls. Turns out that unless there has been a change in the last 24 hours, MTSC Will be in fact hosting exhibition Olympic Game (s) however; no Team Canada, No Team USA on the bill. SOMEONE owes me an apology...you were nowhere near on your prediction, kind of makes me wonder of your whole, atlanta/ phoenix predictions. Can't believe it took you that long to realize there wasn't anytime for an exhibition game. They barely shut the NHL down for 2 weeks, they don't have time for exhibition games.

To break attendance records for that game I bet you'd only need a couple hundred people at most

You know what I do expect the top teams to come to Winnipeg as I feel we desevre nothing less then the best. It seem's as though Hockey Canada continues to screw Winnipeg. First the World Juniors and now this.

Well Belarus lists Andrei Kostitsyn (MTL), Sergei Kostitsyn (MTL), Mikhail Grabovski (TML), Ruslan Salei, and Konstantin Koltsov as their best players - and fills out the roster with players from HC Dinamo Minsk - yikes.
Switzerland has Mark Streit (NYI), Martin Gerber (he still playing?), David Aebischer, Andy Champagne (AnD), and maybe Paul DiPietro (remember him? MTL in the 90's)...
Yep the pickin's are mighty slim... Maybe teammates the Kostitsyn Bros. and Grabovski will get into a mega-scrap during the game. That might be worth the $5 price of admission.

leer2006, when mentioning that Hockey Canada screws over Winnipeg don't forget us not getting the World Championships (not to be confused witht the World Juniors). This has become a great tournament and it was awarded to Halifax/Quebec instead of us even though Halifax has had the World Juniors more recently than us. We almost had to bail out that tournament due to poor ticket sales. I can understand us not getting the World Juniors because other cities deserve a shot but we should have at least received the World Championships.

I am real curious to see what the ticket prices will be. Anyone think they will even break 1000 people at the games? Maybe they will boost the attendance by showing a real game on the scoreboard and advertising that
