Good day all,
I have a question, being a true blue fan and (besides this year) going to almost every game, why are the attendance figures so low? We are 4-1 in the last 5 games? Now if I had the extra cash I would be there in a heart beat ... we went to the loss against the lions, and had a blast. Great game, but we did suffer a loss (not by much tho). Due to expenses on our house, and honeymoon, the extra cash we have, which isn't much goes to current bills, TIGHT right now, but will be better in the next couple months. We did manage to squeeze in a game, due to the fact it kills me not to go. I am just wondering what the problem is.
Is it Kelly? Could this be the problem behind the loss of over 6000 seats?

For me; it's because of the league. I just haven't really ever been able to become a huge CFL fan / supporter however; I still enjoy the occasional game here and there. With us obtaining an NHL Franchise soon, I'd much rather save my money, and spend it on the NHL when it arrives too

there just isn't any good press at the moment. It feels like the Reinbold era all over again and I think it's the circus that they are running at the moment - Kelly and the press - Kelly and the players - the revolving QB door - the weak offense system - Westwood cut then brought back.
Banjo bowl is pretty much the cut off point for fans where if the team is doing well - fans will show up - if team is losing - fans give up.

I see your point... (both). Not to put anyone down at all, but I don't see how you don't become a huge football fan of the bombers. It may be my family and friends that influenced me from a small age, but I absolutely love em! I am by far a CFL person, and when the season is done I tune into my Pats. But Bombers come first. It just is a great league. TOO ME. But I think gee is right when he says "Kelly" I think he opened his trap a little too much, and fans are responding the only way they know how... NOT GOING. Troy prolly shouldn't have been cut by Berry, but again, he is been a Bomber for many many years...and I think that if Berry wanted him gone, he should have done it a little more classier then that. I do understand they wanted to make room for someone else, but he is so dedicated, and a really true blue!!! Troy is a good fit, and I am happy to have him back. He will get stronger, and I have faith in him. When the NHL is back, I will be attending that as well, but my Jets and Bombers are hand in hand. I will support both, as I love both, and I can't sacrifice one for the other.... that is just me!

i was ready to give the bombers the heave-ho, no thought required if it meant keeping the Jets back in 95-96. no question keeping the Jets OVER the bombers for me.

Not for me.... I would never throw out the bombers, I would never throw out the Jets. I would have a major issue picking one or the other.. I love football and hockey the same.

From what I understand (reading Bomber msg boards), attendance always goes down when the temperature drops. Football games are fun for casual fans when the weather is nice but not so much when the weather is crappy. It's been a long time since the Bombers have even sold out a playoff game so to sell out games during a losing season isn't easy.
Kelly hasn't helped much and the up down season hurts peoples enthusiasm for the team. The last home game of the regular season is more or less a playoff game to see who gets in the playoff game. If any game this year should be sold out, it should be that one.

With the crap weather we have a roof is a must!

From what I understand (reading Bomber msg boards), attendance always goes down when the temperature drops. Football games are fun for casual fans when the weather is nice but not so much when the weather is crappy. This city has always been a fairweather fans city. Figuratively and literally. there just isn't any good press at the moment. It feels like the Reinbold era all over again I was calling it the ReinBALD era, though they already have as many wins (7-9 this season) as Rienbold had in two years (7-29). but a dome would suck in the summer - except this summer when it never quit raining I'm a STH, the games this season, weather wise, were great. I only remember rain at one game. I wish more people would support the Bombers while they are still a community owned team.

I agree, maybe that Dome will help. I know personally, I don't care what the weather is, I go anyway. BUT its true, trying to get someone like my mom to sit there is -28 weather just wouldn't happen! lol
I hope they have a dome!!! That would be awesome!
