Moose lose 1st line center Krog to Atlanta Thrashers.
Read it today in the WFP.
That is a tough blow to the team considering their second line center, Cullen, may also not return for next season.

And they also lost Jaffary to the Flames from what I was reading.

Krog was good, but I am really more saddened by Jaffray going to Abottsford/Calgary. The guy is second all time in a lot of offensive categories for the Moose and always wore his heart on his sleeve.
Chicago also signed Drew Macintyre to play goal and got former Marlie Tim Stapleton in a trade.
Hopefully Heisinger and Arniel have some people lined up. I would love to see Alexandre Giroux in Moose threads next year.
Good news is there seems to be a decent chance Lawrence Nycholat will be in Manitoba next season to run the power play.
If Schneider is not going to come back a goalie needs to be brought in. If nobody else is able to come in, Karl Goehring would be great to bring back.

Some of the local media question why the Moose don't get more support. As much as I like the Moose, it makes it much more difficult to get behind them because they are always at risk of losing their best players to other organizations.

Thats no excuse, it's getting extremely hard to find franchise players in the NHL now. Most teams have 1 or 2 players they build around, besides that 1 or 2 player(s) the whole team can change extremely fast.

Thats no excuse, it's getting extremely hard to find franchise players in the NHL now. Most teams have 1 or 2 players they build around, besides that 1 or 2 player(s) the whole team can change extremely fast. There is one main difference though and that is the players in the AHL are always looking for the opportunity to get to the NHL level. Therefore, they will look at any organization that will give them the best chance to make it to the NHL. Players in the NHL have the option to show loyalty to a team by playing there for less money if they so choose if they happen to enjoy playing in that particular market. The focus of the fans is always on the best players (which are usually also the fan favorites) and an NHL team always has a better chance to keep those type of players than do AHL teams. I'm not disputing what you say but that is just one more reason why we would prefer an NHL franchise in Winnipeg than an AHL team.
