never said Tampa was solid, we know it isnt, but that doesnt mean jack shitt and you know it Jimi. we AINT GETTING the Lightning!! Wow....calm down kid. First off, what source told you that we are 100% not getting the Lightning? Second, you never used the term "Solid" in describing Tampa's situation but, you made it seem as though things are still Rosey there. Shoudn't you change your name to "Bettman"? What's with this "jack shitt" business. Tampa is a failing franchise. If you don't think so; prove that they aren't! You don't need to express any attitude with me. Can you explain to me why as an owner, you would keep them in Tampa? There is a little more to this story..... Jimi, dont call me a kid. we have met remember, do i look like a kid?.....i know ur trying to be condesending with that remark, but use something else ok? secondly, i would love it if it were true, that we are getting the lightning, but just because they are playing a game here means NOTHING. are they broke?.....probably, but again, means nothing. all u guys jump to conclusions, far too easily. and if YOU know something Jimi, then YOU tell us. personally, i dont think you do. so lets all b e nice, take a breath and see what happens.

i know ur trying to be condesending with that remark, . If you're not "condesending" in your recent comments to me; You really need to re-read them. You've been on Go Jets Go for a while now & I have NO idea why! As for the "kid" comment, I call alot of people "kid". You prefer Pal? Friend? Homie? G? As far as me "not knowing anything", you stick to that mentality. Enjoy the game!

"Can you explain to me why as an owner, you would keep them in Tampa? There is a little more to this story" Jimmi can you explain why as an owner you would keep a team in Phoenix or Atlanta?? Could we for once get an exiciting team? It was nice to see the flames for a change but cmon lets get a good team Anaheim, Pittsburgh Washington or someone like that! As for the significance...remember just about 2or 3 ish years ago when the Oilers and Coyotes annoucned they were playing here? There was a frenzy but honestly I think there just having games here because they know we'll sell er out and make them some money since an exhbition game in Tampa likely wouldnt be a big ticket. We've shown we can sell tickets a couple years in a row now but for myself quite frankly I get just a bit tired after every game (:except for the flames game wasnt there). Still I might go to this one, maybe I'll look for Lowe in the boxes

No I cannot. And that's the whole point! As far as this game goes; It WILL be a good one. Tampa has had to sign a contract stating they WILL be showcasing their Star Players. ( Namely: Stamkos, St.Louis, Lecavalier ) So, it'll be worth the ticket price! I'm very much looking forward to this opportunity.

They will all be there unless a trade OR injury!

I just noticed an interesting trend? Starting with Pittsburgh, a couple years back they were in big trouble financially and there was rumours of a move until the ownership was fixed up thanks in part to Sid the Kid for making them a competetive team, The Tampa who seems like they could be in trouble get Stamkos who could make the Bolts competetive as well if he plays better. Now the isles have been in trouble but with that 1st round pick which will most likely be used on tavares (unless burke pulls off that miracle). Could Tavares bring the isles back?

I remember talking to a few people before the "Crosby Sweepstakes" and, everyone seemed to think perhaps Bettman would Rig it so that Pittsburgh would get the Cindy Crybaby. Sure enough, they did. And yes, it's been pretty obvious since then each year, what team is going to get a certain player. Set up? Maybe

It could also be that the teams that are in financial trouble are IN financial trouble because their team sucks enough to get near the 1st overall pick, lol...

ok look, every team that comes here in an exhibition game is not by accident. there is always some office in the nhl who is in charge of determining the best place for a team whether it is expansion or relocation, even if it never happens. they need to know all they can know just to stay ahead in case that situation happened. an nhl game here again is huge. they put edmonton in it to make money thats a no brainer, but exactly right why tampa. either they are struggling and moving soon or another sun-belt could be. they want to know how many people in winnipeg would support a sun-belt moving to winnipeg. huge news, we always need to stay in the good books and the best move we can make is to sell this one out so that it looks like we love the nhl even if we all hate tampa bay and edmonton. if no one went why would they consider having us...beggers can't be choosers. shame that phoenix isnt involved but that could be another part of the story from last years stats.

Ok why would the NHL send some teams here to make money and others to see if theres interest? That makes little to no sense. Wouldnt they only send teams here that are in trouble and keep stable teams like edmonton, toronto and calgary at home?

everybody is playing these exhibition games to make money. the question is why would they pick edmonton and tampa. obviously they need the canadian content and edmonton has a lot of support in this city. tampa is a crappy team that has little fan base here and it's company loses money by owning them. both teams would have to agree to this game and tampa likley is looking for interest in other markets to see if they can either make more money on their existing team or see if they can sell here. the nhl is likely looking at our level of committment if it is a meaningless game with 2 crappy non-post-season teams from this year...even if edmonton is loved for being canadian. relocation is possible for tampa so why not think we have a shot at em...we just landed one game from them.
