I have a feeling we're gonna get it. Should've been awarded to us in the first place.
I hope people remember this scenario the next time they want to say "Bring back the Nordiques! Quebec City deserves an NHL team!... well as soon as they build a new arena!"
This situation has basically proved Quebec City is nowhere near as good a hockey town as Winnipeg.
Tell me again why so many of you want NHL hockey back in Quebec City?

Quebec City says 2008 funding in place
Quebec City mayor Andree Boucher

QUEBEC (CP) - Quebec City Mayor Andree Boucher says the 2008 world hockey championships will go ahead as planned and funding for the $11-million event has been put in place.
Quebec City is to co-host the 2008 edition of the world hockey championship with Halifax, but planning for the event has been plagued by problems. Boucher said today a new budget with some existing money being reallocated and a new organizing committee will get the championship on track.
Six-million-dollars of government money will be reallocated from the budget to celebrate Quebec City's 400th birthday in 2008.
The City of Quebec will come up with another million dollars and local organizations also will provide some funds.
Hockey Canada has criticized the provincial capital for dragging its feet on preparations and has given Quebec City until Tuesday to get the event in order.

I think Hockey Canada still has to approve Quebec's "new" deal....but unless there is something glaring missing from it, I am sure they will rubber stamp it...
But until they do........................................who knows...
