So i was thinking, should a city that truly wants a NHL team have to pay it's due's in the AHL before being considered for an NHL franchise.
Min req-- 5-years in the AHL Avg ATT over 7.ooo (no freebie's or corperate seats Tix must be over avg AHL prices and so on.
If that was the case i would even go to Moose games, only if that was the case-----Any thought's or other req......And no just because we are Canadian doesn't count as a req-LOL....

That is true, 5 years is a good time to do it, and you can't expect a team to draw as good as they might for the big leagues, i mean at least that would show some kind of indication of what the team might draw like, it can also to some extent show what the team's city can do in the way of support outside of the game. I think it should be that a team has to at least do a trial for a couple of years before receving a team, does anyone think that this could have foretold some of the issues down in the south?

Personally (and I know I've said this before), I find it ridiculous that some people in Winnipeg pay their hard-earned money to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks farm team- after Wpg and Vancouver had a rivalry for 17 years... and the fact that the Canucks organization doesn't give a rats azz about Winnipeg.. .and the fact most in Vancouver bash the Heck outta Wpg when our city is mentioned.
But I guess "It's all we have" is a good enough reason to spend/waste 3 hours of your evening...
If the Canucks relocated to Phoenix in '96 and the Jets stayed (work with me here), I wonder if Vancouver hockey fans would support the Jets AHL team? An interesting question!
