Well know they should be playing in Wpg next fall, but where do you honestly see them ending up?
Personally I have no idea... they've been trying to get an area for 7 years (sound familiar?)... hasn't happened yet so it probably never will.
Hmm.. I should have added a "Beats me! Nooo idea.." option... I would've voted for that one.

Hartford and Vegas aren't realistic options as they don't have suitable rinks.
Unfortuanately I have to go with KC, or they manage to make a deal and stay in Pittsburgh

I expect the Penguins will stay in Pittsburgh.
Right now under the current circumstances, I'd have to say that Kansas City is the frontrunner followed by Winnipeg as the possible destinations of the franchise has to relocate. Why do I think Winnipeg is second? Because I think the NHL will come to their senses to look at your city more extensively without a shred of doubt in my mind.
This is since we don't know publicly yet what Winnipeg will do or if a potential owner will be revealed. I'm sure Darren is in knowledge of what's going on and I'll wait to hear his thoughts and Winnipeg's coverage before I form a complete opinion on what will happen. It wouldn't be fair for me to do that.

i expect an arena deal will be forthcoming and the Penguins will stay in Pittsburgh playing the next 2 seasons in Mellon Arena under improved lease terms...however, one critical issue is that the cost of buildning a new arena in a place like Pittsburgh has apparently skyrocketed in the last 12 months or so...Hartford had discussed building a new 250 million 16,000 seat arena...but a study indicated that the cost today there would be more in the 300 to 400 million range...at a cost of 400 million to build a suitable arena in Pittsburg, their future looks less certain...without a doubt I consider Kansas City as the most likely place for the Pens to end up in the event Plan B doesn't work out...certain of Lemieux's long-time associates, friends and business parters are all involved in the KC effort and the arena will open it's doors in time for the 2007-08 season...the Sprint Center was paid for through public financing and a small contribution from AEG which will manage the arena...
