I guessing the meter should be lowered for the time being. Sad but true.

Not really... everythings the same as before.
We have an arena, we have a CBA, Chipman and Co have stated interest, Southern teams still arent doing well.
Just because theres no updates every 5 seconds is no reason to worry.... gawd!

The fact is that many in Winnipeg are still convinced that we can't afford 40 games a year with a high average of ticket prices.
The Jets games used to be filled with 3-4 person families attending. That will cost over 100 dollars per game now and that's for the cheapest seats. Those people are going to have to be convinced that it won't be only for the super rich to attend games because the new rich yuppies in Winnipeg don't like sports, they're busy fighting for gay rights, dining at expensive restaurants and doing the latest drug craze.

Well, nobody is stepping up. Nobody is showing any intentions. I hope I have the chance to eat my words, but right now, it feels more like 10%. The big dogs on this board have given us no reason to believe otherwise. If there was still something, anything still happening behind the scenes, they would have said so somewhere on this forum in the last two months.

Just because there have been no updates or movements lately doesn't mean that we are any further away from the goal. I say keep the Jet-o-meter where it is and wait till the summer to see if anything comes of the failing American teams.

I've noticed a strange parallel between the chances of the Jets returning and the participation of Blackthorne on this forum. Interest spiked when he posted 30 times a day, but has waned since his second banishment. Like him or hate him, BT certainly was an asset to Jetsowner.com

I personally think this turn towards the negative has been since the Aspers bought their houses in Toronto.

I still sense that Blackethorne created a lot of unjustified hype as though Winnipeg was "guaranteed" to be coming back. His prediction of 2006-07 was not necessarily way off but was just a guess. I'd say our chances are just as good now as they were 6 months ago but we have less false hope due in part to the lack of BT.

50%
It sounds like there are 2 teams available, Pittsburgh and Nashville (maybe soon) and 4 Cities intrested, Winnipeg, Houston, KC and Hartford(possibly). I dont know how you can get a bigger %age.

Why is this still going? We are 5/6 done.
Arena, done CBA, done Ownership, half done... we have the ownership pursuing a team, we just need to bring one here.
How many times do we really need to argue this???
