Hey guys, now that the World Juniors are done, I think it's time to start crunching some numbers, and generating more ideas for the campaign. No more "yippee and woohoo", put your head towards something useful, as the board has seemed to have turned more into a chatroom, rather than a message board that it is supposed to be. We need Jason back here to generate ideas, as it seems few others bother to post things relevant to the ROTJ campaign. Congradulations to Team Canada, and now hopefully things will head back on topic.
My two cents on where the board has headed.

Yeah I'm down for that. Not to bash Darren but if we had an off topic forum you wouldn't have to put up with my mindless banter.

Mindless banter? I think the message DURING the Tourny was loud and clear, "Bring Back the Jets" "Go Jets Go" "Bettman Sucks" "McKenzie Shave your Back" you get the idea.
I think what we winnipeggers did was awsome for our campaign, and I don't think it was mindless banter. It was Nationaly televised and we made sure everyone heard us tonight and every night!

Talking about revenue sources is way more mindless. No one here is going to buy the jets, and no one who will is going to read what's posted here. The person(s) who buy the Jets will have armies of people who think of stuff like fan clubs and TV contracts.
It basically only serves to convince other people and reassure people who think it's going to happen. So I say let that rest alongside my humorous impersonation of Patrick Roy and people talking about urinals at the new arena. It's all pro-Jets fellowship regardless.
This board is way more lively (and people more likely to sign up) when the atmosphere is more like shootin' the Go Jets Go with people who believe in this common idea than it was with people barking facts with a "Get it or get out" mentality.

Actually people interested in buying the Jets, and many "big" Winnipeg people read this board quite often. If you dont believe me, go ahead and ask Darren. Noone said we would bring back a "Get it or get out" attitude. The Canada stuff was fine, and the point is, owners can get more reasons to bring a team here if they see more revenue sources now. There are some ideas that their people may not think of, it may just pass over them. Also, the more revenue sources we find, the more equipped we are against naysayers, no? You might not have to deal with that as much in Minnesota, but here in Winnipeg there are armies of them, and its also good to have a loaded arsenal ready against them.

I foresee most posts on the return of the Jets will level off a bit but as we all know the lockout/cba is what hinges on the return of the Jets so most posters will post there more often but also some people would like to anticipate more growth in Winnipeg in relevance to the buisiness side of things and population. All in all these topics hinge on the return of the Jets.
And above all most the rhetoric in the return of the Jets have been discussed to death.
