Think about it .... Having the MTSC opened for all the Away games.
20$ - lower bowl seats
10$ - Upper bowl seats
and selling approx. 75% of each would give us 6.5 Million $$$ in revenue per year.
This would definetly work for the first couple of years but after that ... well who knows....
any thoughts???

maybe u are charging too much to watch tv at the arena but I would for sure do it in the playoffs I think they would still make alot of money off the concessions and the buisiness community would surely profit from this. During playoff time I would hope the arena would make this a festival with music and etc like the bombers did lately for there social at the bomber stadium.

This is actualy a AWESOME idea for the playoffs!!! brilliant. Not to bention your profit figure doesn't include concessions... at $6.00 a beer and $3.00 for a box of popcorn it wont take long to add up. - not to mention the Jets store and what not. Very good idea indeed.

yup, flames opened up McMahon Stadium for a game against San Jose last playoffs. They had just under 10,000 people show up...the rest of Calgary was on 17th Ave. I think they opened the Saddledome for a couple of away games also if I'm not mistaken but I was back to MB for those.

didn't the flames do that during there playoff run last season? Yes. This is the ONLY way it would work....for the playoffs. Nobody in Winnipeg is going to go downtown in the middle of winter, on a weekday to watch the Jets on a big screen TV in the MTSC, when the can do it for cheaper in the comforts of their own homes.

So, you're saying that we did not support them even in the Playoffs or did not even support them through the number of years? So, the bottom line here is that we are not a hockey hot bed? I go to some Moose games every year and follow the team very close, personally I don't find the game many times that exciting and I never manage to jump out of my seat when they score, but I follow all the Winnipeg teams closely through the years and the players for the Moose always of course get called up and move around all year and that just does not contribute barely any thing to our economy since the players are always out going which means our money eventually is out going from our economy. I do support the Moose though, but this cannot keep on happening to our city. For now Go Moose!

I suppose this is a decent idea, though I don't know why many people would do it when they could invest in NHL Center Ice and get more games.

Because the crowd intensity will be there... it would be sooo loud still even if the game is on screen which to me is worth the dollars.

Moose posters have never been known for their intelligence, good judgement, or community spirit.

this would be a good idea (for the playoffs). just open up the mtsc during a playoff run, and some fans will come. they'll pay to get in, and they'll pay for those 6$ burgers at the concessions. plus u get something u wouldnt get watching the game while sitting on ur couch at home...the atmosphere.
