The outdoor game in Edmonton last season was a great event and brought in a lot of money for the Oilers.
The Jets could have a game at CanadInns Stadium against the Canucks possibly.
They could have All-Time Jets play the All-Time Canucks like they did at the first heritage classic as well.

its kinda too blatant a rip off. If we did something like this, it should be a lil different to make it more exciting, and less of a carbon copy jets style.

By the time they actually got around to doing this, the new Bomber stadium would probably be built...
PERHAPS they can design the new Bomber stadium to be configured to have an NHL-size ice surface?
That might seem like a lot of work just for one event, but maybe the new Jets could hold other similiar events there more than once a year?

I am not to sure that the players wouldent want to spend that much time out side in the peg cold

Oh give me a break... maybe an event in the new (Partially-enclosed mind you) Bomber stadium maybe once every 2 years...?
The players aren't wimps.

Play the final few games of the season at the new Stadium and possibly the first few playoff games... hows that for a revenue source...
Well hmm.. never mind,,,
it would never happen though...
Lets stick with the Heritage Classic style idea

When you wrote this first: That might seem like a lot of work just for one event, but maybe the new Jets could hold other similiar events there more than once a year? So, is it one event every two years, or a few a year? A Heritage Classic type game would suck in a partially enclosed stadium. What was great, at least for the tv viewer, about the Edmonton game was that it was a wide-open rink in the middle of a field, where you could just imagine the players playing as kids outside on the local rink. You could see the night sky in the distance and it felt 'real'. A stadium like they're proposing for Winnipeg will take much of that atmosphere away.

I was thinking a while back when I saw the Oilers do this, a Classic Jets vs Classic Nordiques. Highly doubt it would happen, but it sure would be sweet.
I wouldnt want a total rip-off of the idea, but for this event it would be cool. I just hope a bunch of teams dont rip this idea off, it would just kill it. It was a great idea/event but shouldn't be used by lots of other teams and happen often.

I don't remember the Jets and Nordiques having a big rivalry...
Jets - Flames was the biggest rivalry they had. Guaranteed fights every game too.

Oh man, that would destroy the new turf. Badly. It did to the Eskimos but their grass is real and was just rebuilt up.

I only suggested Quebec because it was another CDN team that moved, and would be cool to see....but a rival team like Calgary or classic oilers would be sweet too. Jets vs anyone would be awesome to see.
