Jets could charge an extra $5 (or so) for tickets when they play "High-profile" teams like Montreal, Toronto, and Colorado- or Fri/Sat. night games against CDN NHL teams.
These games will have a bigger demand for tickets than other games and thus will be known as "Premium games".
More revenue for the team.

This would likely only apply to single-game tickets and maybe mini-packs.
We wouldn't be the only NHL team that does this either...

So would I.
But, I still think it's a bad idea in this market.
You'll have people say (especially to their kids) "We'll go when we can afford it."
Might work in some cities.
Just not this one.

It works both ways, though... the premium games are the ones most likely to sell out anyway, so it's not like they need the business of the cheapskates who won't pay the extra $$$ to see Toronto on a Saturday night. Instead, John Q. Pennypincher can take his kids to see Nashville on a Tuesday - a game that would normally have more trouble selling tickets for. Two benefits: extra revenue for the "in demand" games and more demand for the "average" games. I've been critical of a few of these revenue streams, but this one is an excellent idea.

Just cause someone can't afford to go to a game, doesn't mean they're cheapskates.
Thought I'd clear that up.

It's a good idea and like you say, there are many teams that do this already. I wasn't aware that we had so many Colorado fans that we would have to do this for those games but whatever.
If it's only an extra $5 or so...most people won't get too bitter about that. (some will but there will be those that complain about the prices regardless)

What would be considered a premium game? all the Canadian teams, Detroit, Rangers, Phoenix
Just asking.

Leafs, Habs, Oilers, Flames, Av's (lots of Colorado fans in Wpg), and whatever team won the Stanley Cup the year before.
