I think the Jets had this in there final year, but a Jets Skills competition (before the NHL All- Star Game) with a Jets Alumni game night would be a great calender date added to sell extra tickets.

Great idea, most likely a sell-out, but likely not as high ticket prices. This could still draw a few hundred thousand dollars though...

agreed. Brilliant idea Ray. This also would likley be televised on MTS TV and generate some dough through that.

i remeber the jets did a skills competition in 94?? im not sure exactly when but it was free. every nhl team held its own skills competition that year and the hardest shots, fastest laps would compete at the nhl's skills competition. that was the year dave manson won the nhl's hardest shot competition. they didnt do a very good job on advertising the event so there werent that many people at the jets skills event even though it was free . im sure it would get a high attendance now.

I know that the Minnesota Wild do this. If we did it, that's one more sold-out game for us. Of course, the game would also be available on pay-per-view... 41 regular season home games + 3 exhibition home games + Jets All-Star competition + possible playoff games... The money is adding up!

I think this is common practice now.

I'd love to see our new team play a skills competition!
How much would ticket prices be for this?

5-10 dollars sounds reasonable

Nah... $20-$25 for the event... and make it "rush seating"!
There could be more offered than just a "Skills competition"... they could have a team autograph session... show "Greatest Jets moments" on the video scoreboard... have prizes and giveaways... etc.
