I was browsing around the "ROTJ" forum and found these 2 great ideas by Herman:
1. My first idea is a "Jets Roadtrip" that would take bus tours full of Jets fans on either a western roadtrip, eastern road trip or southern road trip to see the Jets play 1-5 road games. The Jets organization could probably get a good deal on tickets, accomodations, and bus travel and charge the fans 10% more but still low enough that it's a good deal. I know it won't be in the millions, but I'm sure they could make a couple thousand. It's not much but it's better than nothing and it would be a cool experience for hockey fans. (There would definitely be a market for this in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba for that matter)
2. My second idea concerns intermission revenue like a "Chuck a Puck" event. Does anyone know if the Moose make money from this or does it all go to charity? They could probably think of similar events to make money during intermissions without it being illegal. For example, maybe make more exciting contests during intermissions and make people pay a small fee to enter. People might also be able to pay to enter their high school team in a shoot out tournament to be played during intermissions. I don't know if any of these intermission ideas are actually feasible or would generate revenue for the Jets.

i really like the roadtrip idea. that would be one helluva road trip. imagine it. edmonton, calgary and then vancouver over a week. i always wanted to see a road game. im' sure there would always be bus loads of jets fans driving south for games again the wild. i dont know how many of these i could afford, seeing as i will have a nice chunk invested in season tickets. but thats a great idea!!! ;D

I love the ideas, as usual...just don't know if I'd have the time to do a road trip though...I'd likely have to plan that puppy out two months in advance....

i like the road trip idea.....they're always fun......i did one through 92citi fm a few years back....it was for summerslam 99 in minnesota.....good memorys....i'd do a jets road trip for a vacation for sure......
i didn't want to start a new thread cause i wasn't sure if someone (blackthorne) thought of this idea.....but a maybe sell scratch and win tickets.....geared towards a winnipeg jets pack of season tickets or jets merchandise.....i know in alberta here the oilers and flames have scratch & win tickets you can buy at any place where lottery or scratch & win tickets are sold.....selling them for 2 or 3 dollars would probably be a big seller.....cause i always buy a couple tickets when i get smokes or gas........

Chuck-a-puck is actually quite stupid.
League rules state that THE ICE MUST BE CLEANED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE INTERMISSION. As in the ice should be cleaned before any intermission events take place.
But, since chuck-a-puck takes up a few minutes, instead the teams are left to play with shittier ice in the period after chuck-a-puck, and the ice is not in as good of condition.

That's when Jericho made his PPV debut. I actually went to his first WWE match in Winnipeg the day before, when he substituted for the Rock, who had his flight delayed. Gas just went up again! It's at 89cents/litre now. I can only imagine what the prices are in Winnipeg.
