"Standing Room Only" tix could be sold for NHL games at the MTS Centre.
My idea would be to give the companies that own luxury suites the option to purchase an additional 10 tickets per suite at around $20.
Suddenly the MTS Centre can hold 15,500 for NHL hockey- without a DIME being spent on construction/renovation.
... and a Winnipeg NHL team can generate an additional $400,000 a year.

that would be good, but i still wish there was a way to get some standing room other than the suites. it pains me to guess that i might not be able to get into a playoff game without purchasing season tickets. if i only got a mini pack i might be shut out of the playoffs. oh well, at least there might be tons of alternatives to check out playoff games. i guess the bars, cinema, and ppv could still be pretty good, just not the same though.

I have tix in a luxury box at MTSC this weekend.
I'll report back afterward on if I think this is a viable option.

i wonder if the fire code limits how many people can be in a luxury box at the arena ?

There also may be room for people to buy tickets and stand/sit watch the game from the 'John Labatt Lounge' when the NHL returns to Winnipeg and all 15,015 tickets are sold. I believe there's room in there for more fans.
If not, perhaps it can be expanded at a minimal cost...

Why do we keep posting the same things over and over again. Yes it is limited by fire code. I believe they are at max already.

Of course they sell standing room tickets in other NHL cities, I think the above was referring to the amount of people that are allowed to be in a suite according to the fire code. I can't see anywhere in the MTS Center where they could even have standing room.

Perhaps, but it gets really crowded up there between periods. but I guess you could get maybe a hundred people in there, I certainly would buy standing room there, you would be real close to the beer vendor as well!

this is the only good idea of seen, but it's a no-brainer and is in fact what is already done at many arenas, see Rexall for example
