I recently finished another year of university, and I'm currently looking for summer employment, and as a result, this has given me some free time to (among other things) draw this concept for the new Bombers stadium on the perimeter. I hope to eventually draw two elevations. For now, I only have this plan.
The stadium I have designed is basically an homage to CanadInns Stadium, which is noticible in the same general arrangement of the seating. The top of the pic is the north side, and there would supposedly be a hotel right behind the north side bleachers and the scoreboard. This would be good, because it would block out some of the biting north wind that Winnipeg starts getting in October and November (into playoff season)
This stadium, by my best eyeballed estimate, would seat between 32,000 to 33,000 people, and I drew in 46 luxury suites and about 3,000 club seats in this plan. (I don't know if the number of luxury suites in this concept is too little or too much for a CFL team, so feel free to tell me how off I am.
The concourses and entryways would be completely enclosed and "building-ed" up, unlike the open backsides of CanadInns Stadium. It would have foyers, lobbies and concourses just like an NFL stadium. The press box is on the west side grandstand, and there is an easy access concourse located on the grandstand starting from the northwest side, circling around the south end and around up to the northeast side. The locker room and training entryway is located right below the set of stairs just off the northwest corner of the field. The Bombers Team store would be located in the west side grandstand along with the locker rooms. The seats are considerably closer to the field than the current stadium as well. The front row is only 24 feet from the out of bounds sideline.
There are 52 rows of seating on the west and east side lower decks, and 32 rows on the corresponding upper decks. There are 20 rows of seats behind the south end zone, and 10 rows in the southwest and southeast corners, and the north side bleachers. There are a higher percentage of seats along the sidelines in this 3,000 or so seats are located behind an end zone, compared to the 4,000+ in the current stadium.
Keep in mind that I drew the upper decks slid back, because I wanted to show the suite level. To imagine the upper deck slid into its proper place, think of the edge, or fascia, to be at the tip of the arrows on the corners.
Anyway, here it is:
