New condos for old brewery site OCT 04 2005 07:30 AM CJOB news has learned of an ambitious proposal to build new condos in a part of Winnipeg that has been largely ignored by developers. If all goes according to plan, "Riverboat Landing" will go on the old Molson Brewery site on Redwood Avenue just off Main Street. Right on the Red River and next to St. John's Park, Jay Lev of Stride Development Corporation believes the 57-units will tap into an untouched market. Lev says they will showcase the three-story project's Red River location. Partnered with a division of Man-Shield Construction, Lev says they're hoping to have shovels in the ground next spring. Get rid of rent controls, we need apartments, not more condos.
