Construction is underway on a $1-million condo project on Webb Place. The WebbSite condos are two-storey lofts averaging in price at about $130,000. They are located within walking distance of University of Winnipeg and Portage Place. Four units have already sold. The project is the first new housing construction in downtown in nearly 20 years

This and the new condos on Waterfront Drive are just the start. They need a couple of affordable high rise apartments buildings in the downtown area with retail on the ground floors.

One of the new condos going up downtown is on the site of the Dubrovnik Restaurant isn't it. I heard that its going to be like 16 stories or something. Good to see people moving back downtown.

I thought they were supposed to build some type of tower on top of one of the corners of Portage Place That was the original plan of Portage Place Mall. Two towers, about 10 stories high, were supposed to be constructed on each end of the mall.

That was the original plan of Portage Place Mall. Two towers, about 10 stories high, were supposed to be constructed on each end of the mall. Was it supposed to be for office space, residential or both? Tha t would be a great place for more apartments
