Manitoba Hydro office tower at Portage Avenue between Edmonton and Carlton streets, to open in 2007.
The $20-million Millennium Library at Graham Avenue should be open around Labour Day, 2005. It will add 40,000 square feet to the existing Centennial Library.
A five-storey, $15-million office for Credit Union Central of Manitoba (CUCM). Construction, on the site of the old Capitol Building on Donald Street north of Portage Avenue, is expected to be complete in fall 2005.
The Lakeview Group of Companies has announced it is building a six-storey, 115-unit, all-suite hotel beside the Winnipeg Convention Centre at the southwest corner of St. Mary Avenue and Edmonton Street. Construction on the $12-million project will begin in spring and the hotel will open before the end of the year.
CTV is moving into the Powerhouse building adjacent to the MTS Centre next summer. Its fellow tenants will be True North Sports and Entertainment Ltd., which includes the Manitoba Moose and the Tavern United Powerhouse Pub.
A $20-million, 11-storey office/residential tower is planned for the west end of Portage Place Shopping Centre, with work expected to get underway in spring.
Four condo developments worth almost $50 million will be built along Waterfront Drive, starting next year.
An announcement is expected by the end of March on a redevelopment of the Bay at Portage and Memorial Boulevard. Plans are to have offices on the top four floors, with the Bay spending up to $28 million for improved retail space on the first two floors and the basement.

This building is in close proximity to a Heritage Building, and requires heavy shoring on all sides as the building makes full use of the property. Its great to see these developements taking shape, I just hope it keeps on going at a steady pace. To me the new arena and the library is simply just infrusture improvements that is much needed. The Bay better stay downtown. The basement of the Bay building would make a great fit for a Zellers. This would for sure make for greater variety of shopping for downtown.
I hope to see Sears set-up shop downtown. eventually.

I'm sure there will be more stores downtown eventually. With all the commercial development and the beginning of some resedential development, there will be more people downtown, which should spur more development. GO DOWNTOWN GO! lol
