Well isn't you whining about my post being negative too....?
Pot... kettle.... black....
What I stated was fact. How many "confusion corners" are in other cities, for one thing. Very poorly designed city, we are. (Yoda talk) lol
________________________________________________________________ Winnipeg deserves better than the Canucks prospects. The Moose *SUCK*!

Winnipeg was an extremely poorly-designed city I'm afraid.... I'm actually going to agree with you on this one. The road system in this city sucks. Look at Calgary. When a new sub-division goes up, a "Trail" or freeway is apart of the plan. Here, build the houses first, then we'll deal with the traffic when we get around to it. St. James is a good example. All this new retail developement but has the road changed? Been made wider? Nope. Still the same configuration as it was 35 years ago. There is a "Plan" to build a road connecting the different corners of the city. When will it be finished? Not in my lifetime. This city will get an NHL team first before that road is complete. So far, Bishop Grandin and the Cheif Peguis Bridge is the only thing to show for this "roadway". Maybe the Charleswood bridge too if the road goes that way.

And don't most other major cities in North America name their streets and avenues with numbers, as to make navigating the city easier?
(Exampe: 1st steet... 5th avenue..... 29th street)
It must be very difficult for tourists to find their way around the city. Hell sometimes it's hard for ME to find my way across the city and I've been here 25 years.
Just think... if you needed directions in Wpg. vs. getting directions from a city that numbered their streets...

Calgary I found was very easy. 16th ave & 2nd st NE. The NE just eliminated three quarters of the city. The numbers in this case go West to East and South to North. Simple. BUT, there's some new developements that don't use the number system. Rundle was always my favorite. Almost every street was Rundle something. Rundle ave, Rundle rd, Rundle st, Rundle bay, Rundle way, etc, etc, That's where you can get really lost.

Yep the city is poorly designed in all areas the old and new. A number system would make things a hell alot better. But most Manitobans like I we use landmarks, miles and blocks ias our ways to find places. lol
