I just read in a TSN article that one of the reasons the nothing got settled on Saturday is that the NHLPA didn't like that the Hard $42.5 mill cap wouldn't go up as revenues go up. Now I'm no expert here, but wouldn't that be some sort of LINKAGE!!!!! Like a small child, as soon as something gets taken away, they want it. It also said that the NHLPA was looking for more of the stuff that was in the Dec. 9th offer. Well maybe you should have taken the Dec. 9th Offer and we wouldn't be in the state that we are.
I think the NHL's strategy should be to continue to make worse and worse offers...suddenly there original looks good, and the players will offer back the original offer. It may not be the best way to negotiate, but when dealing with a child, I think that's how it needs to be done.

well, since the nhlpa's smartest member probably wants nothing to do with them (steve moore), i cut them a little slack. hockey players are great guys but not necessarily the brightest bulbs.
