Did anyone read or see Mike Modano's statement on the current lockout and how some of the players are considering crossing over next year if a deal is still not reached? This is a GREAT breakthrough and though he's gonna be slapped on the wrist, it was well worth it and could start to propel other players to start to crack. I'm tired of hearing the Bryan McCabe's bitching about money... He's a Go Jets Go defenseman anyways!

He's already changed his mind and said it won;t happen. He claims his words were 'taken out of context'.
Is the NHLPA like the mafia? What are the players afraid of? Modano is a superstar - stand up for yourself you gutless f*ck!

the nhlpa is totally like a mafia. if anyone speaks their mind, there goes their career. the union wont back them and will prety much shun them. eventually, the players will have had enough and will start a revolution against the union. they will all crack eventually or run the risk of never stepping foot on nhl ice again. stay in europe or still play for 5 times as much in a salary cap nhl.

I saw what Modano had said after I posted the comment. What little respect I had for him is now gone. This is getting ridiculous, I can't watch classic NHL the rest of my life!!

Well, what he said in the first place is true - players are cracking and they WILL cross. What he was forced to say later was to cover up the truth.
The players would benfit in the long term by the breaking of their union. It only works for the upper elite players and is political and mafia-like.
