Happy New Year everyone,
I think this year will be one to remember!
The lockout will officially put an end to the season.
More and more teams will be put up for sale. (A source in the Globe and Mail has put it at 10 teams "quietly" for sale right now).
Talk will start up about replacement players.
Eventually the union will fold and sanity will return to Canada's game.
Once the salary cap is introduced, the behind the scenes stuff that Chipman et al have been working on will come to the fore front, and then the real excitement will begin.
2004 played out exactly like Darren predicted it would.
2005 will prove to be even more exciting.
Can't wait!

Looking back on 2004, I really can't believe how much progress has been made. Cutos to Darren on that one. At first I was skeptical... really skeptical. I thought, sure it would be nice to get it but I don't know if we can... Then I saw what a great job Darren did marketing this campaign and you the fans did selling it and spreading the word. Cutos to you all. So after all the reflection, it leaves me to look towards the future. Lockout, bargaing talks, teams up for sale... all these things will soon fall into place and will all end up with the return of the Jets, I have no doubt now. I'm now going to make my New Year's resolution. In tribute to David Carr of the Houston Texans, I vow not to cut my hair until the official return of the Jets! There you have it! But I digress, and wish you all the best in the year 2005! ;D Party hard all of you!

How much I'm truly happy 2004 has been such a building block to Darren's campaign is an understatement.
Actually, it should be sanity returning to the NHL and its fanbase, not so much to the sport.
Believer, your statements regarding 2004 and 2005 respectively... on the money! Let's believe this new year will indeed be more exciting than ever in the cause being a success.
