Same with Buffalo....and to a lesser extent Washington.

At least Washington has division titles and a Cup Final appearance in it's relatively recent past. Islander fans can barely remember the last time they were even close to that. (Same with Chicago.) I still believe Buffalo will survive because when it comes down to it, they have good fans. I really hope that franchise can right itself because losing Buffalo would be counter productive to the New NHL coming back to traditional markets.

I can remember the last time Chicago played for something meaningful. Game 7 of the 1971 finals, my dad took me, the only time I have ever seen the Stanley Cup, of course it went to the wrong team, that damn Dryden

the last really good islander team was 1993...coincidentally the last year bill torey was employed by them.

yes. he did NOT like don maloney's vision for the future. in retrospect, al arbour was a genius,and not just at coaching.he knew maloney would drive the team over a cliff. don maloney...a gm who makes moves so everyone knows HE's there. there's a reason why he's never been g.m. of the rangers.
