the isles or the nhl have started blacking out their games. that combined with the fact that they are ineligible for revenue sharing, says to me they are done.wang or not.

So the Wirtz family must have bought them. ;D
To me, that's not even a team on the radar of relocating, I am sure he's playing hardball for more concessions for a new rink

Yeah the Islanders are safe, but they do need a new rink in the near future. Had they not had the ownership problems over the last decade they'd probably be playing in a new arena now. Theres to much money floating around Long Island for them not to get a new arena deal set up.

Same place they're usually at when it comes to the New York Rangers. Do nothing, say nothing because its the "New York Rangers."

10/22 isles blacked out again( unless you get dolan's cablevision.)even center ice hasn't televised any of their games unless rangers were not playing.the rangers are killing their competition and the nhl does nothing.maybe we should try to lure them to winnipeg sans mad mike.

How are the Rangers legally allowed to get away with this? Do the Rangers really think they could lose fans to the Devils and Islanders?

they've always thought that.ever since 1975 playoffs when the upstarts took em out in ot. apparently something was done because they're back on.we'll see what happens when the schedules conflict again. by the way the msg network now controls buffalo's television coverage also.they're like" the blob" or something.

I remember up untill a few seasons ago the Sabers used to be on the EMPIRE sports network. I think EMPIRE is/was a Buffalo based sports network. They always did a good job covering the Sabers games and overall day to day operations of the franchise. What is the name of TV play by play guy that does the Sabers games? His voice was classic!

Bring the islanders to the peg? Your joking right? Bring the Hurricanes to Portland or Houston? You're joking right? Whats with all this "Islanders are moving" talk of late?? They'll get their arena soon enough like all New York teams do. Worst case scenario the Islanders move to Brooklyn in that new Billion dollar arena the Nets are building. Like most New York teams their ego is such that the Islanders will probably tell Long Island to leave New York before they'll ever leave.

I don't think anyone on here seriously believes the Islanders are going anywhere, since they are Vivian's favorite team and he is moving here, maybe some wishful thinking on his part

yeah, but the new building is not a slam dunk.as for brooklyn, that wouldnt fly for hockey(see my comments on the devils' arena in newark )as a die hard isle fan,i dont see much of a future for them un less they start getting some LIKEABLE players and a real GM.fans do NOT flock to see ALEXI YASHIN. and on a side note , since they took over ownership of the Bridgeport Soundtigers, their excellent business practices have turned seasonticket holders all over into EX season ticket holders.same on Long Island.

From what I've seen, Islander fans have been abused mercilessly by Islander management since around 1993-94 or so. They have been subjected to a horrible draft record that would make toronto and vancouver blush, High Liner Fish Stick banners passed off as uniforms, Mike Milbury, an owner who thinks Milbury is doing a great job and of course breaking the bank for Alexi Yashin and giving him the keys to the franchise. Would you continue to pay Old NHL prices to put up with that? I wouldn't.
Chicago is in a similar situation with Wirtz and the same can be said in Boston as Jacobs runs the Bruins in a similar manner and has redused them from full fledged giants in the NHL to a sad parody of what they used to be.
The Island will support the NHL but they need a reason to do so after over a decade of BS.
