they are the dark horse.their jackass of an owner spent like a lottery winner and now he's lost tons.he's not gonna stay for the long haul.this team may quietly be shopped around and soon.

I say, Anaheim and Pittsburgh for sure right now, so I voted 2. Carolina, Phoenix, Florida, Atlanta, Washington and Tampa are all probably in the "wait and see" phase until they realize they're never getting their fans back. Then the number will be 7 or 8! Washington and Anaheim are staying put. Washington had on bad year on the ice and the books and everyone is getting all bent out of shape. If Buffalo and Ottawa can go broke and survive then Washington will be OK. Anaheim was just purchased by a LA billionare who said he has no plans of leaving.

I have to say that its anywhere from 4-8 teams right now. Carolina, Florida, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Nashville, Phoenix, Anaheim, Washington, Tampa Bay all come to mind as not being the wisest of investments.... hehe... Again Washington is staying put. Trust me the leauge isnt going to let Leonsis do that to Washington. The Caps had no problems drawing fans or making money before ol' Teddy showed up. The Caps always made the playoffs and even made it to the Cup (d*mn Red Wings) in 97. It wasnt until Leonsis tried to buy a Championship that they missed the playoffs and had to gut the team. That last year Washington (minus Kolzig and Witt) was a AHL team playing in a NHL arena. Factor playing in a division with Carolina, and two Florida teams (who wants to see them play?) and thats how you get a team to have a bad season.

Remember the 87' series with the Islander when Pat Lafontaine scored in the fourth OT period in Game 7? I can't recall who was in net for the Caps, but Hrudey played the best game of his career in net for the Isles. The new uniforms suck. They should return to the Red, White, and Blue jerseys, with the word "capitals" as the logo. I miss them..

I actually like the uniform displaying the flying Eagle. If your talking about the black uniform displaying the Capital building on the front I agree with you. I was never a big fan of that jersey.
I wish the Senators would go back to the original black jersey that matches their current white one. I never did like the red and white jersey with the Marvin the Martian look-alike on it.

Yeah thats the one. They used to have a road version of the "Eagle jersey" in dark blue but they haven't worn it since 98-99. They switched to the black jersey displaying the top of the capital building for the logo.

I liked that blue jersey with the eagle. Did you prefer the Whalers green or blue jerseys? I was disappointed when they went to blue.

I liked the blue more because I'm all about 3 colours on a jersey. No more no less! (Take notes Phoenix!)

Phoenix will be moving back to Winnipeg, so why bother making any effort to change their uniforms! Has Gretzkey ever given any indication on the possibility of Phoenix moving? That would be nice to see the Phoenix Prairie Mutts move back to Winniepeg and have the Carolina Candy-Canes move back to Hartford.

It was all about the blue jersey: one of the coolest the NHL has ever seen.

It was all about the blue jersey: one of the coolest the NHL has ever seen. I agree. Although, there is something nostalgic about their old green and blue colors of the 80's. My best friend lived in that jersey.
