I have heard time in and time out from people around the city... who have business ties... that there is currently a deal going down - the Aspers are looking to purchase the Atlanta Thrashers - this is no joke... i have noticed that others have heard this same rumor and have posted this information on this site... however, those posts have been removed from this site in about 24hrs... so I don't expect this post to last long...
I can't verify it, but I have heard it from three different friends who have different business ties in the city... all I know is that there is something going on with Atlanta... how much of this is just talk between the two parties and to what degree it's serious, I don't know, but they are talking...
for the people, of the people... Probably a lie... Just sounds too good to be true. Here's a letter from the new Thrasher owners to the hockey fans of Atlanta: www.atlantathrashers.com/View.aspx?CID01=92234323-4616-424f-9576-dc13088b3616

Well thye ahve to respond to the fans though. They cant like let the fans feel liek there gonna lose there team. they cant afford to lose anymore fans they alreayd have.
every city is gonna tell there fans there not mvoiung there team, if they did.. that would be the biggest mistake a mussiness man can ever make.

It would be kinda cool if Eddy O came back as coach of the Penguins.
I'd also like the Thrashers... any team just bring the NHL back...
What's with Guest man... he probably will never come back to this site so it's kinda pointless for me to tell him what a fool he is... he obviously is an American. Wow, I had no idea they were so passionate about OUR game.
Oh wait he probably thought this site was a bring back the Winnipeg Cyclone site... or bring back the Winnipeg Fury... or maybe Return the Winnipeg Thunder... (remember them?)
I wonder if "GUEST" has a pair of skates even... or knows how to skate for that matter... probably lives in Phoenix and thinks the Coyotes are a senior lawn bowling team.
Sorry guys... but I can't stand it when someone bad mouths us for no reason. I wish people would educate themselves before they start ranting at us.
DO... YOU... KNOW.... WHAT... ED-U-CATE MEEEEAAANS "GUEST?
Probably not... words to big for ya

You know, I heard the other day that, The Washington Capitals are in financial dire strait and are looking to move. It would be a good fit too I think. There not a great team, and there is plenty of room for movement. Hey they had Jaromir Jagr, and they went to The Stanly cup Finals inb the late 90's. They can only get better. Of all the teams that may be moving, I think they would be the most likely to head North Of the border.

We give Washington the Expos and we get the Capitals in return. Sounds like a fair deal, They get the sport they love and we get the sport we love.

Why Nashville? i think of two team that come to mind- Pittsburgh and Anaheim. The Los Angeles area is not really a sports town, just ask the NFL. I think Disney has rid itself of the Mighty Ducks. The Kings will always be LA's team. I don;t see too many people lining up to purchase the franchise. Don't even think about Carolina. Karmanos is a cancer to the game. Look what he has done to Hartford. Karmanos as an owner of the new Jets would make Shankerow look like Mother Teresa. You are 100% correct sir.
