Tootoo was born in Churchill I believe...
Nevertheless he spent *many* years here in Manitoba and I know he has a lot of friends in Brandon and Winnipeg.
If the Preds moved to Winnipeg, I believe Tootoo would be just as popular as Selanne was when he played for the Jets- regardless of how many goals he scores or fights he gets into.
While we're on that topic, It is absolutely amazing how much more Winnipeg could do with the Predators than Nashville is doing... (or any other south U.S. team for that matter)...

Nashville will come!
They barely have a higher payroll then the Jets did 7 YEARS AGO. I doubt they have an entity like WInnipeg Enterprises that takes in concessions, parking, etc. AND THEY STILL LOST MORE MONEY.
Nashville is also the smallest city in the southern NHL belt. Market size doesn't matter all the time (if the market is question has a large fa base) but this market doesn't care. Average attendance is about 13,000. And how many of those are seats bought by companies that give them to employees. or FREEBIES.
It's a Novelty item. They gave people at the games(first year) audiocassettes so they could learn the rules of the game for crap sakes!!!!!!

Another reason why it would be Nashville is because they already have a low payroll, actually one of the lowest in the league.

I'd love for it to be Nashville but didn't the current owner(s) say recently that "This team isn't going anywhere"?
Did the Jets owners say that in 1994-1995?

i think that nashville would be pretty cool. if they do come they should keep those colors but change the uniforms to be more like those winnipeg falcon jerseys used in the world cup. those were pretty cool, even if those in torrona didn't like em.

It will be somthign in the deep south for sure... And with this lock out, the teams will be losing more money than they ever thought possible. You have got to move a team to somewhere where their is demand, and Winnipeg is exactley that place.

Before the playoffs started last year, I heard roumors that tampa's owner was interested in relocating here, although I guess that's impossible now. I can still dream though...
But, to get back on topic, I'm thinking it'll be Nashville. Tennessee is not an NHL market, and that has been shown by many attendance records. They've also got a low payroll and an owner, i presume, willing to relocate. Not only that, but the team's got enough good players to develop, not to mention an all-star goalie. They could be an amazing team in a few years.
Oh, and i heard somewhere that the old owner of the whalers (The one who relocated the team) was interested in purchasing the Ducks and moving them to Kansas City.

I would love to hear where you guys get your info. I have been a season ticket holder in Nashville for every season, and I can guarantee you this Pred team is NOT moving! I agree Winnipeg deserves a team, but your not getting the Preds, Craig has personally told several of us season ticket holders that there is NO way the team is moving!!!!!! He has committed himself to Middle Tennessee and has told us he will not give up on us!!

It would be nice to see Nashville move here when the agreement with Vancouver runs out and the lockout is done. Jordan playing here would be great for Manitoba and great for Nunavut. Bring back the Jets after the lockout!!!!!! GO JETS GO!!!!!!

Hey PredFan, if your owner had said that he plans to move the team next year, how many season ticket holders do you think would bail? Let me save you the suspence, it happened here in Winnipeg and a large portion of the season ticket holders didn't renew there seats. The owner isn't stupid, he still has to promote his business, or he'd lose even more money.
