The Chicago and Buffalo Fog Horns are better when someone scores a big goal because the announcers go crazy and the noise fits the description..
If you ever see the "May Day" game you'll understand..

"May Day! May Day! May Day!!!" That one goal sticks in my head so much. Brad May dekeing around Ray Bourque! Ray Freakin' Bourque! Brad May went around him like he was a pylon(?spelling? you know, those orange cones). Andy Moog didn't have a chance after that. Rick Jeanneret is a pretty sweet play-by-play man, but he's got a small case of the Bob Cole disease.

Yup, I do remember Rick Jeanneret's famous "May Day" livecall. No doubt about it. It has been tattooed in my brain's memory bank forever.
It's weird but doesn't some horns sound different with the crowd noise? With the old Winnipeg Arena goal horn as compared to the MTS Centre version, hearing it from a television its sounds identical to me.
Oh and by the way, way too many teams use Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part 2". Don't get me wrong, I'll always love the song... but some teams gotta get some boomin' tunes or something original. Look at the Rangers, at least they have some kind of "goal song" no matter if you like it or not.
Never liked the Phoenix Coyotes getting rid of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" in favor of Gary Glitter. I wish they'd bring it back. I like the new howl better though during the team's final season at American West Arena with that at least adopted at their new playpen.
Washington's was interesting over the years at US Air Arena and now at MCI Center with their use of the police siren.
The Minnesota Wild have theirs available at their official team site. It certainly is a good one.

Boston had the second best record that season with 112 points around there and Buffalo had 86 points and it was a first round upset. The Bruins were stacked with the one-two combo of Adam Oates and Joe Juneau and of coruse Bourque. Buffalo had the one-two combo of Pat Lafontaine and Alexander Mogilny and the power play of Hawerchuk. Dale Hawerchuk had an overtime winning goal in game 3 and Janneret went insane screamin "Dale Hawerchuk" like 7 times. This is why I can't take the Bruins seriously in the playoffs..good season...bad playoffs... www.sabresalumni.com/2001/sounds/mayday.wav

The Jets/Moose horns don't sound anything like they should. I have Jets sound clips which include the goal horn, and there's a HUGE difference (for those that have never heard the real deal). The only problem with the sound clips, is that they are just that, taken from CJOB and CBC, so they can't really be used as stand-alone goal horns.
