How did you all feel when you could play NHL 93 (NHLPA 93 at the time) all the way to what I think was one of the best games for the Jets era, NHL 96.
I know that whenever I chose a team it was always Winnipeg. Sure when I first started, I put all the great players on the Jets when trading players was implemented and later on the fantasy Drafting. I always liked seeing the logo from our cities team take to the ice. I felt so connected to the game. I really felt down when I lost,
I really felt bad in 1996 my first time to the cup with the Jets. I lost game 7 in Overtime against the Flyers. I just sat there with a blank look. Feeling so bad. Then of course, I started up another season and yet who did I face again for some silly reason? The Flyers. This time I was more determined than ever. I won the Cup and sat back to watch Teemu Selanie raise the cup. I couldn't play NHL 97. hated it too much. I since then got every NHL from 98 til 2005 from EA Sports and while I only choose Canadian teams, well except for one season when I played as the Pheonix Coyotes only because I used the Jets Retro Jerseys, I don't feel as connected to the game.
Here's what I want to see.
NHL 2007, It's in the game. Then watch Sidney Crosby skate up to the camera in a Jets Jersey saying, "EA SPORTS, we're in the game!" of course meaning him and the Winnipeg Jets. Then, the city that lost their team to us has to use our 2004 Retro Jersey. Hahaha. Of course we'll have many to choose from. Home, Away, 3rd, Vintage 2004,1996,1979, all home and away for all of them.

For me, it was all about 93. That was the one for Sega and I'd always go to my cousins house and play. I'd score on him with Selanne, so he'd get mad and take him out of my line up. Then I'd score with Thachuk. He'd get mad, take him out too. Finally I found myself playing with Domi, King and Gillen on the wing, and I STILL managed to kick his Go Jets Go! He was always Detroit and I'd always tune him. I think he broke 2 sega controllers while playing against me!

The only time I remember a friend breaking his controller was Madden 2002 when I was just trashing him. I must have picked him off for the 3rd or fourth time and he just slammed the controller.
I too disposed of my friends quite easily in sports games. I guess that's where I always excelled as I'm not so good at party games or games that require patience. I like the constant action only a sports game can give. I got those cat like reflexes.

If someone still has a sega or something we should pull out the oldschool NHL games and have a huge Go Jets Go tournament... don't know where it could be held though but it would be soooooo much fun!

Ah, good ol' NHL '94. Who could forget that one?
Me and my buddies in Junior high all had the game and played it to death... we'd have tournaments every week too.
I'm suprised I didn't wear the game out.
All I remember is that NHL 94 was *THE* hockey game to get in 1994-95.
Of course, it was probably the only one available, but...

I remember buying "Stanley Cup" for the Super NES (for the 1992-93 season i believe) and using Winnipeg for a season. It was great. I played it all summer while camping. I don't think i even made the playoffs in that game, but i was only 11 so I just had fun playing as the Jets. aaah the memories....

It was ahead of its time, and the system couldn't really handle it. It was also insanely hard to score (except the glitch where u could score from the centre line) and no nhlpa licence definatley hurt it. I played it a lot but yeah it was mostly a dud, a few redeeming qualitites though.

Greatest post ever. Thats an award winning post right there. I Was a fan of the NHL 95 made by EA Sports for the Super Nintendo. I would play as the Jets, and Ian Moffatt #55 would be a machine out there on the ice, let me tell you... I was a huge Blues fan, and often played as St. Louis... (waits for ridiculing). But hey, Brett Hull and Curtis Joseph made a great team... To bad Ian Moffatt Owned curtis Joseph when i played in the season mode as the Jets! BOO YEAH!

And the best NHL game of all time is 96. I'm going through the playoffs as the Jets and I just played a double-overtime game against Detroit.

NHL 2K3 for the GameCube was pretty awesome. Also with NHL 2K5 for the Xbox (and PS2) You can play as the 92-93 Winnipeg Jets, right from the start, completely unlocked!! Oh yeah!
