Pretty interesting stories...obviosuly I dont know him personally, but I wouldn't doubt it, I've heard my fair share of stories about him and have heard of incidents when he was a Jet. Again, I don't know him or anything, or experienced what happened with hawker, so I can't say too much...but I'm not a big tkachuk fan anyway.

it was basically the way he acted towards the people there. he'd look at people, then just shake his head. i've never seen someone as condesending to the staff and patrons as he was. he told a couple guys who said hi to "get away from me, i'm off the clock". it was pretty much everything about the guy. i told my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) that he would never win a Cup. You could see a real division between him and his teammates. i thought manson was actually going to punch him out. ...and this is the guy the Coyotes management wanted to have as the "franchise player". Amazing the Phoenix ownership had the balls to trade Selanne BEFORE the end of the season, much to the dismay Jets fans throughout the world. I guess it doesn't pay to be a nice guy. It didn't help that Tkachuk and Selanne were not exactly "friends' during their time as Jets. I remember watching the end of Game 6 of the Red Wings-Jets 96' playoff series, while every fan at the old barn gave the Jets a 30 minute standing ovation when it was over. The camera focused on new owners Richard Burke and Steven Gluckstern, as they were the only ones not standing, and had no facial expression whatsoever.

I remember in a post game interview at the end of the season or in the playoffs of the 95-96 season Keith Tkachuk was wearing a baseball cap that said Phoenix or Arizona on it. He didn't give a $hit about Winnipeg.

Just to change the mood of this thread a little, you can relive some bittersweet Jets memories Wednesday (the 9th) at 6:30 pm on TSN, as they play Game 4 of the 1990 Smythe Division Semifinal against the Oilers. Just a heads up!

Its kinda sad that some players/people are like that. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when Iginla won the scoring title. Me and a couple of buddies went out that night and saw him at this place called the Drink. Both of them are Flames fans (at least to some extent) while I personally hate them. They both walk up and say congrats on the great season kinda thing, and he replies something along the lines of "Ya whatever, thanks." I decide, heck it isn't everyday you get the oportunity to shake the hand of a great player reguardless of opinion of the team he plays for so I go up and say "Hey Jarome congrats on the great season. Good to see someone from home do so well." I lived just outside of Kamloops for 7 years as a teen. And he gets into a conversation with me about Kamloops and invites me to do a shots with him at the bar. Was kinda funny how the one person who coulda cared less is the one he decided to buddy up with at the time while the others were actually fans of his that he just dumped off as losers. Sad thing is is that it happens all the time too. Working in the bar industry has allowed me to meet quite a few players. One of the friendliest guys I have served was one that really suprised me. Alexie Yashin, really cool guy and was not the image that media has portrayed him to be. Another loser.... Mike Modano, if ya don't have breasts he has no interest in you as a fan.
