For those of us only on this board sporadically, what was the news this spring that caused Darren to briefly move the needle to 99 percent?

For those of us only on this board sporadically, what was the news this spring that caused Darren to briefly move the needle to 99 percent? Pretty sure it was just the whole SHED thing. While that was really cool, there had been many indications along those lines before and had I personally feel that the 99 percent thing jumped the gun and got people all worked up without being truly warranted. However, it all worked out as Darren envisioned.

They are supposedly following up with everyone who purchased wheelchair seating to ensure they need it and maintaining a separate waiting list which I am on, but I'm not holding my breath ...

I don't know that I buy the 99% was related to SHED. Darren said that on-air when asked about it, but I'm not so sure he was telling the full truth. I think he knew something he will never really be able to talk about freely. Something to do with Chipman being "informed of the Atlanta Thrashers being potentially for sale" or whatever his words were during the announcement.
I personally think that the ASG informed the NHL that they wanted out of Atlanta, plain and simple. Just my opinion, and I could be wrong, but that's my opinion.

That really sucks. I hope you get in too! My rep was saying some accessible seating is being saved for single game tickets, so that may be an option as well. Hoping I can get accessible seats myself for the Stars game!

For the record, my father is in a chair so I'm well aware of it's difficulties.
It would of been nice to see TNSE allow mini packs for wheelchair seating.
Demanding a physically challenged person to show up for 42 nights a yr is unreasonable.
Hell, my Father wheeled in the Manitoba Marathon and played both wheelchair basketball and racquetball! He can handle almost anything, but 42 nights...really?

pretty sure the casino was the reason for 99%, the only way it would be approved was based on a 100% certainty of NHL returning to the city.

I don't know if casino is the right word, but some type of gaming facility was/is rumored to be going into city place at some point.

a VLT lounge. More VLT's with a larger cut going to TN, like the deal they have had for sometime with the VLTS at Tavern powerhouse. Not a casino per se (no table games).
