Great post Darren!
I'm really glad that I was able to meet and chat with you on the day of the big announcement. As if that day wasn't memorable enough, to be able to share that surreal moment with a guy who kept the dream alive, through maintaining and operating this site and forum for 8 years, just topped it all off. Thanks again for taking that CLASSIC photo of me with Bettman, and good luck with all your future plans.
Cheers! Marc L

I've been on this site from the very beginning...in 2003 but just recently signed up for this forum.
I can only imagine what it is like for those of you who have been posting here since the very beginning....almost bitter sweet now that the Jets have returned.
I can honestly say that a part of me died when the Jets left...this rebirth has awoken a new passion for the sport of Hockey. A lot has changed in the last 15 years. I for one, have young children who can't wait to see the Jets play....that just absolutely thrills me!
I'm sure many of you have your own personal memories and heartaches over the years....I know it's ONLY a sports team, but hockey is what being a Canadian is all about!!!
Peace to all of you, and hope to chat again on the new site!!
Over and Out.

Well I guess this is it. This ride has made me frustrated, happy, nervous, scared, proud, just a wide range of emotions. To begin to describe it is almost impossible. I found this place in 08 after reading a news article about the NHL, I figured we really could work again. This site changed my thoughts on "we could work out" to "we will work out". This place was a cozy corner of the internet where Winnipeggers and others who believed could talk about the latest person to say we deserved a team. To think that was big news back then is pretty funny.
I'll look back at our time without the Jets as a sad time, I'll remember the Moose as my hockey fix, and I'll remember our Calder Cup final run that awoken our city and possibly made people realize we still are a hockey city and always will be. I'll remember 2008-2011 as the craziest rollercoaster ride I've ever been in, and I'll remember 2011 as the rebirth of the Winnipeg Jets.
So thanks TNSE for reviving my pride in our city, and thank you to the members of Jetsowner for welcoming me into the rumour mill. Goodbye guys, it's been fun.

Darren,
You might not have personally brought the Jets back on paper and I know you have been s**t on from other sites, but your website united the scattered fans around the city, province, country and world to focus on one common goal. It is my belief that this site helped make the cause VISIBLE and could have been what convinced Chipman and Thomson to finally invest in this all.
This is bittersweet for sure. I have been around the site since 2004, and around the forum since 2005. Having no physical connection to Winnipeg, or any NHL city for that matter, I really loved the oppertunity to get to know a city and a team to call my own. The "Funeral" was too heartbreaking for it to end there and believed relentlessly that Winnipeg would return....... and it really feels good to see that, yes, sometimes people who deserve a second chance do actually get it.
But... as for the site... the fact that this site is winding down means we're back! I will be forever grateful for what Darren has done on this site and for Alex for taking the endless hours to keep everyone in check! You guys are great, and so are all the other members! This is my last post here, but I hope to see you all on JetStream in August!
Like that famous line by Don Witman at that last Jets game ...... "you'll be missed, thanks for the memories!"

I've only been a member since Feb. 2011 but it feels like forever. The Simpsons thread was one of the first I came across and can't recall ever laughing so hard. I knew I was home. Some of those COG meetings and especially the cupcake summit made me laugh and scream in frustration all at the same time.
I was proud that Darren selected my company to print the "Mission Accomplished" shirts for the big party at 4PLAY. I hope to work with him further on Jake's Tickets as I see a bright future for this outstanding endeavor.
I still get a bit misty when I watch the presser from May 31st and sitting in my P4 seat for the first time on July 7th brought it all home..... my team is back..... 16 long long years and my team is back.
With the end of this site approaching and the passing of Richard Harris something needs to make me smile today.
Can someone please provide the link to the Simpsons thread.... I need it bad.
Cheers and thanks to everyone...... PEACE.

Well... Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
Thanks Darren for allowing me, a British Columbian and long time 'jetsfan' to stay in the loop with all of this - been here since day 1!
Have fun at centre ice!

Well put! Thanks Darren, this site made the last few years tolerable. With this site, we vented, gained hope, and kept our dream alive. I shudder to think how intolerable the waiting would have been without this site.

Earlier on (2003ish) i stumbled across jetsowner.com and havent left since. i thought back in the day that i was one of the only people that truely beleived the Jets would be back. i realized that i was not losing it and found others who were just as crazy to believe that. Darren has given us a place to gather and keep our hope alive through all of this and for that WE owe him plenty! It has been a roller coaster ride from 2003-may31 2011 but i love roller coasters so in a warped way it was a fun ride! The month of May 2011 is one i will never forget as WE GOT OUR JETS BACK!!!!!!!! The month of June i will also never forget especially the draft trip to St. Paul! That is one of the best weekends i have ever had. Actually being in an NHL arena again and cheering the GO JETS GO chant all evening was amazing!! My voice finally came back 2 weeks later. The limo also was icing on the cake. Being welcomed back by so many hockey fans, players, execs was awesome!!! The guys in our limo group and the guys in the hotel (Jeff, Todd, Vince, Darren, James, and Massy) were absolutely a blast to be with for the weekend and i wouldnt have wanted it any other way. That inside joke about Darren and the rabbits will still make me laugh for years to come, and the sleeping arrangements that first night with Vince what a trip and what a ride this has been!!! Again, THANKS DARREN for all the sh!t you put up with and keeping our dream alive!!!!! I hope to see all of you on JetStream in the near future. Look for me, True North Jets is my username on the freep!

This has been truly a pleasure to follow the developments over the years. The city of Winnipeg has achieved something special.
Your courage to persevere is a beacon of hope for everyone. It proves that positive change does happen for those who are willing to put in the time & energy to make things happen; something I am striving & hope to achieve with aspects of my life.
Merci, et bon matche au cours des prochaines années!
