Why don't they just buy the Bombers and run all Sports and Entertainment in this town.
This way we could have a domed stadium since they would no longer be in competion with themselves and MTSC.
Just a thought......

I'd say no,they got their hands full as it is,and we're getting the open air thingy anyway and it would just delay a new place another 10 years. ;D
What I'd like to know is what is in the competition clause,I dont think anyone knows except TN and the city, knowone has ever stated whats in it,except no City money for xx number of years, but for what?An enclosed arena over 6000 or any concert venue.
Is a Dome really in comp with MTSC for any event? One could say concerts but its not unless its under 15000 ppl,Monster trucks?big diff in scale for an arena show and a Dome show, arena shows are crap.
I'm just not buying into this theory that TN is stopping the city from helping build a Dome in the Peg untill theres some proof.
And if TN could stop it,just need some rich person to build it with private money so the City wouldnt have to worry about forking over cash.

Does a dome seem like it's in keeping with TN's way of doing business considering they built the smallest arena in the NHL? I think a dome only works if it's heavily subsidized by the government because while it might allow for some big concerts in the winter, those are not every day events and would not make up for the added expense of the dome.
I said last year that TN should step in when Asper stumbled but they didnt need to I guess. TN is already in business with the Bombers as far as promoting concerts so they get the benefits of using the stadium. There would have been some great synergy though, had they stepped in to buy the team.

a domed stadium would work if they housed a new convention center like they do in Indiana where COlts play and share the game field as space for exhibition space and that if TN went in partnership with the city in building it. And having the bombers play there would of been great. I would of loved having the stadium downtown in South point douglas heck they could even tie in a rodeo and make the stadium and lands around it or take on all the space in point douglas for a new site for the horse racing track. Basically point douglas would be a sports field park. Or just build a standalone stadium/ convention centre in and around the present convention centre site like I am sure some building would have to razed but most people are always opposed to drastic changes in this city.

Razing South Point Douglas for a new Stadium is great in theory but it would have cost a fortune to collect all that property and displaced so many people, many of whom are low income.

That plan had all sorts of problems attached to it. But as for the original topic, I thought the same thing a few years back. The cross-promotion between the two would be a no brainer.
