Am I reading this all correct?
Now NBA Players are locked out? Thank GOD we got a franchise this year because, with no NBA or NFL; surely there would be quite a boost in ticket sales down in Atlanta!!

your're right. and the good thing is, I don't like basketball, so now hockey will become much more popular and get more money, so this is good for the sport. I don't really care too much for footlball too.

Thank GOD we got a franchise this year because, with no NBA or NFL; surely there would be quite a boost in ticket sales down in Atlanta!! I was thinking the exact same thing my friend! Although it doesn't matter and now we'll never know, but I almost get the feeling it still wouldn't have helped Atlanta's ticket sales! Same goes in Phoenix... I'm willing to bet they will still have an empty building all year.

I never thought of that. I guess all the stars were aligned for us this year. I'm still optimistic something will be worked out in the NFL this year though. Things are looking better there but I can hardly wait for Jets hockey. Go Jets!

Same goes in Phoenix... I'm willing to bet they will still have an empty building all year. Of course it still will be empty. Arizona's basketball team plays in phoenix whil;e the yotes play in glendale. It will barely affect it as the sun's fans won't travel the distance to see the games. The football team plays in glendale, so that would b a concern, but the football dilemma seems to be moving towards a resolution.

And now the spotlight drifts to actually good sports: hockey and baseball! I don't think college will compensate in the States

Maybe its Jets 2.0's destiny to become the NHL's version of the Packers! If so, Chipman and gang better take advantage of it! ;D

I doubt this would help PHX/FLA at all. Nashville's doing alright as is, so it's going to get better, and the same with TB. Not sure about Carolina; with the fact that Raleigh-Durham is COLLEGE basketball country.

Next year, if these lockouts cause an uptick in Attendance and TV Ratings in Sunbelt Markets (hopefully it doesn't), Buttman will be talking about how great the NHL is doing down there and how none of the teams need to move, even though the NHL will go back to being an afterthought after the lockouts end.
