Moose Shop having a clearance sale of Moose merch. What's interesting is that posters at the shop describe the sale as a chance to own "hockey history." No, that doesn't rule out Moose as a team nickname. But it does make it sound unlikely. Tried to post a photo, but couldn't

I found the "1996-2011" during the season to be almost a sign of things to come. Apparently it was just a celebration of 15 years of Moose Hockey, but now that the deal is done, once again it feels like the Moosehockey.com home page is a complete 'farewell' to the Moose franchise AND identity.

I for one don't mind the moose name at all and I only ever went to two moose games both times with free tickets. The whole argument that it's a minor league team name is utterly ridiculous considering the jets name came from minor jr team before the wha was formed. I think the current moose logo is really nice

There is almost no question that the name will be the Winnipeg Jets. We are close to getting someone at True North to crack and admit that... and we'll report on it the second we are able to.

yeah, who ever liked the moose must be crazy! what a stupid name! and who in their right mind would go see pro hockey for $14 a game in a nhl calibre rink, ran by an nhl calibre management team who almost always put a quality product on the ice!
ends sarcasm...
come on guys if you didnt like or support the moose (or AHL hockey) then thats a little arrogant.

Moose is a horrible name, good riddance. Tell that to #1MooseFan Oh my god that guy. He agreed with me when I said we'll be back in the NHL IF the NHL wants us, but once we got a team he said TNSE was stupid to pursue the NHL and he's looking forward to the team leaving again. The guy isn't worth anyone's time.

The guy isn't worth anyone's time. I seem to understand his point though. Even though he puts on this 'tough exterior', it may be a cause of someone being too proud to admit they simply cannot afford Jets tickets as the real reason for his animosity towards the new team. You can arguably say the same thing for the reason a Jets historian like Curtis Walker may be against the Jets returning to the NHL. It's a lot easier to admit that you are against a new Winnipeg NHL team, than to admit you just do not have the finances to go to the games.

As strange as it may seem, there are a lot of people out there who are Moose fans and are upset about their favourite team leaving. There is no need to smear them.
